3 1.1 Introduction What is Salesforce.com and how can we integrate it into DirectSmile Cross Media? We will explain that now. Salesforce.com Inc. is a global cloud computing company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Though best known for its customer relationship management (CRM) product, Salesforce has also expanded into the "social enterprise arena" through acquisitions (Source: Wikipedia) Thus, it is possible to manage a large amount of customer data. With the help of a data relation, the new lead generation, for example, can be directly forwarded to the CRM system within a DirectSmile Cross Media campaign. This eliminates the manual step of storing such data in a data table first and then importing it into a CRM system. 1.2 Setting Up a User Account You can set-up a test account at any time even without using your own CRM system from Salesforce.com. This way you ll be able to understand the following process. If you do not have an Enterprise account (with Professional you will have to contact Salesforce and request them to unlock the Rest API ) you must at least set-up a Developer or Partner Account. 9 First impression: We were successful and are logged in! Now we can create an App. Click on your user name and then on Set-up in the extending menu. This is the only correct method, so don t get ahead of yourself and click on the green Add App button, otherwise you won t be able to link a Connected App with DirectSmile Cross Media. Enter any application name and more importantly activate the OAuth. To ensure a smooth access, it is best if you enable everything (Full Access) and click on Save.

1.3 Creating a DirectSmile Cross Media Campaign We ve finally gotten to this point. Please don t leave the Salesforce website because we will need access to the data from the App in just a moment.

In this part, we are going to create a campaign in the DirectSmile Cross Media Designer and link it with Salesforce. For the following example, we are going to create a webpage which will request the visitors to register. The newly gained data will then automatically be written into the Leads table in our Salesforce system. If you do not have any experience in creating DirectSmile Cross Media campaigns, you might want to refer to the manual first or watch the tutorial video on the following website: Fig. Don t use any spaces or special characters when naming your campaigns. If your selection doesn t allow or doesn t show tables for the integration of Salesforce, please contact your sales representative. Select Salesforce in the opened window. In the next step, transfer all of the information from your still opened Salesforce homepage to the fields of the DirectSmile mask. In Salesforce, the client ID is the Consumer Key and the client key is the Consumer Secret. It will, however, require some effort to get the Security Token, which will be explained in further detail in the next section.

Request a Security Token Click on Personal Setup in the left area under System Overview, then on My Personal Information, Reset My Security Token, and then on the sub-button Reset Security Token. 16 Linking the Form with the Data Relation Now link all of the entry fields with the columns in your data relation as usual. Please read the chapter Setting Up a Data Relation (chapter: Data Relation page 469) for more information.
