2 MSBA Accelerated Repair Program Program targets replacement of roofs, windows, doors, and boilers Goal is to preserve assets by performing energy-efficient upgrades In 2013, 26 School Districts participated with projects at 47 school facilities totaling $84M Program requires projects to be completed within 18 months Towns must appropriate full project costs within 90 days of MSBA Board vote Reimbursement rate for Day and Robinson Window Project 45.95%

Day School Two story 68,000 s.f. elementary school constructed in 1965 Current enrollment is 399 students in Grades 3 through 5* Capacity is 506 students* Windows and doors are original and in poor condition. Windows are single glazed metal curtain wall units. Building originally designed to include central air conditioning. John Robinson School One story 45,000 s.f. elementary school constructed in 1970 Current enrollment is 237 students in Grades K 2* Capacity is 418 students* Windows and doors are original construction. 9 Robinson School PCB Testing Results November 2013 testing confirmed presence of low levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB s) PCB s widely used in caulking materials from 1950 to 1979; banned in 1979 Department of Public Health determined levels found are not a public health risk and school is considered safe Abatement requires either encapsulating materials or removing masonry EPA will determine which abatement method will be used
