1 The 11 th Asian Association of Sports Management Conference AASM 2015 Langkawi Island Malaysia 26th 28th August 2015 Theme: Reinventing Sport Governance: Policies, Processes and Pathways for the Future. Call for Paper Malaysian Sport Management Association (MASMA) invites sport scholars all over the world to participate in the above mentioned conference by submitting a variety of academic abstracts related to sport management topics as listed below: Sport Governance: Global and Regional Perspectives Sport Education Governance: Developing the Linkages Sport for All Governance: Issues and Challenges Governing Elite Sport: Issues & Challenges Sport Industry Governance: Stakeholders Initiatives Sport Tourism: Policy & Practices Abstracts that discuss completed or on-going research are also accepted. The mode of participation can be either: a. oral presentation (25 minutes, including Q & A discussion) - One author can make only one oral presentation but can submit a maximum of three papers with joined co-authors b. poster presentation (90cm x 120cm board) The following are important time frames for the Call for Paper : 30 May 2015 : End of abstract submission 31 May 2015 : End of Early Bird Registration 14 June 2015 : End of full manuscripts submission 26 August 2015 : AASM 2015 Conference A. General Rules for Abstract Submission: 1. Abstracts must be submitted online in a MSWord document file format via the Conference official at aasm.lgk2015@gmail.com. 2. The submitted abstracts must have never been published in any publications or presented in any conferences in the past.

2 3. The accepted abstracts will be reprinted in the Conference Abstract. If necessary, some editorial corrections will be made and there will not be an opportunity for authors to revise their abstracts. 4. Authors cannot be added after the abstract submission deadline. 5. Abstract submissions are considered as the presenters intention to register for and attend the 2015 AASM conference. 6. All abstracts will be subjected to blind review. The review criteria will be based on the mode of participation. 7. Notification of abstract acceptance will be made 14 days after submission. The absence of notification indicates unacceptance of abstracts. 8. A book that contains conference materials (oral and poster presentations abstracts) will be published. In addition, authors of the accepted abstracts are invited to submit their full papers in the Conference Book. 9. Should the authors of accepted abstracts choose to submit their full papers for publication, they may do so from the date their abstracts acceptance are notified until the 15 June The general rules for paper submission is illustrated in item F. below B. Abstract Format: Language: Length: Font: Title: Content: Page layout: Grammatically correct English Not more than 600 words long 12-point Times New Roman All capital letters. Must include author(s) name(s), institution (s) and the first author s address. The presenter s name must be bold and underlined. Must include background, objectives, methods, results, discussion, and keywords. Figures and tables are not acceptable. 8.5 x 11 inch paper with 1-inch margins C. Submission procedures: Abstract submission must include the following information: 1. Presentation category (empirical or conceptual) 2. Topic category (as listed above) 3. 3 D. Review Process: Submissions will be subjected to a blind review process. Submission of an abstract indicates the intent of the presenter(s) to attend the conference. No more than 2 first authored presentations will be accepted from the same person, including all co-authorships, for the 20-minutes presentations. Authors are reminded that the conference abstracts are accepted on the basis that they represent original work and should not have previously been published. E. Presentation Guidelines: The following guidelines are to be observed by all presenters in order to facilitate both the presenters and the conference program. Once accepted and duly registered, all oral presentations have been scheduled in 25 minute sessions within the conference schedule. 1. It is important to design your talk to fit within a minute timeframe. This will allow 5 minutes for questions and discussion and 5 minutes for movement between presentations. The Chair of each session will be instructed to ensure that the time allocated is followed. 2. In each presentation room there will be a lectern computer that will be running Windows with Office. Save your files as a.pptx to ensure compatibility 3. Please your presentation to aasm.lgk2015@gmail.com. If your file is larger than 1 Megabyte create and send a Zip file of your presentation. Alternatively you can upload your presentation at the conference secretariat. Ensure that you save your presentation as a.pptx on a flash drive/memory stick (and a CD as a backup). 4. Your presentation, once submitted, will be checked to ensure that it is compatible and that all parts are readable. It will then be transferred to the lectern computer that will be used in your allocated presentation room. Please be aware that: - There will be no access to your presentation after it has been transferred to the appropriate laptop computer. - You will not be able to use your own computer for your presentation. F. General Rules for Paper Submission: The following guidelines are to be observed by all oral and paper presenters when submitting their manuscripts to be included in the book of Conference Program/Proceedings.

Smith 3 1 Full address of first author, including affiliation and 2 Full address of second author, including affiliation and 3 Full address of third author, including affiliation and (use Times New Roman 10 typeface for author s Affiliation) ABSTRACT This file provides a template for writing papers for the conference. The full paper file shall be written in compliance with these instructions. The author is asked to submit the paper in MS-Word and PDF Portable Document Format (PDF). Both files shall be saved with the full first author name as name of the file. An abstract not exceeding 250 words, in English should appear on the top of the first page, after the title of the paper in chapter titled "Abstract", after the names of the authors and the contact information of the corresponding author. Key Words: Maximum 4 Key words. 1. INTRODUCTION It is expected that authors will submit carefully written and proofread material. Spelling and grammatical errors, as well as language usage problems, are not acceptable in the final submission. There is no strict limitation to the number of pages, but it is suggested that the paper length should not exceed 6000 words. Papers should clearly describe the background of the subject, the authors work, including the methods used, and concluding discussion on the importance of the work. Papers are to be prepared in English only. Technical terms should be explained. Acronyms should be written out at their first appearance. 2. PAPER FORMAT The uniform outlook will help the reader to follow the proceedings. This can be obtained most easily if authors use this template file to construct their papers. Please note the following details: this template is an A4 format. All text paragraphs should be single spaced, with first line intended by 10 mm (0.4 inch). Double spacing should only be used before and after headings and subheadings as shown in this example. Position and style of headings and subheadings should follow this example. No spaces should be placed between paragraphs. Please do not change any of the above mentioned page, paragraph and font settings. 2.1 Fonts Papers should use 10-point Times New Roman font. The styles available are bold, italic and underlined. It is recommended that text in figures is not smaller than 10-point font size. 2.2 Tables and Figures Figure captions and table headings should be sufficient to explain the figure or table without needing to refer to the text. Figures and tables not cited in the text should not be presented. Styles Heading Table and Caption Figure are available in this template for tables and figures. The following is the example for Table 1.

All figures and tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals. Table headings should be above the tables. Figure captions should be centred below the figures. Minimum figures resolution: 150dpi. 2.3 Equations Figure 1: 30 The sunflowers facing east. Each equation should be presented on a separate line from the text with a blank space above and below. Equations should be clear and expressions used should be explained in the text. The equations should be numbered consecutively at the outer right margin, as shown in Eq. (1) and (2) below.
