1 My Contact Management and Reporting Features The New Look & Feel
2 We ve made some enhancements to the contact management and reporting features within your Constant Contact account! You ll be able to do everything you ve always done plus a whole lot more. The new look and feel lets you add more contact information, see more about your contacts on a single page, and do more powerful, faster contact searches. Let s take a look at how to accomplish your top contacts and reporting related activities including: Where to find your lists How to create lists How to send an to specific contacts How to add and find contacts How to remove contacts How to export contacts How to grow and track the growth of your contact list How to manage bounced s How to see how your s are doing And be sure to check out the highlights of your brand new features! 3 Where are my lists? You ll now notice when you re on the Contacts tab you ll be able to view everything related to your contacts in one spot without having to change pages. Your lists can now be easily found in the left hand sidebar (along with other helpful information about your contacts right at your fingertips!) You can view your lists in the right hand column by clicking Lists or View All Lists. You can make your lists the default view by clicking the check box Make Lists my default view. 5 A B How do I create a new list? A Click the + button and enter a name for your new list. B Now you can even create a new list directly from a contact s profile. C You can also create a new list by selecting contacts from your search results or directly from your Opens and Clicks reports. C My Contact Management and Reporting Features The New Look & Feel 5
6 How do I send an to specific contacts? You can choose which list(s) to send to when you schedule your Marketing or SaveLocal just as you ve always done. But now with the new Narrow it down option it s easier than ever to get the right message to the right people. You can narrow down the contacts you ll send to within the list when scheduling your . You can filter by tags, a cool new feature that allows you to easily categorize, find, or send to a targeted group of contacts without having to make a new list every time. 7 How do I add contacts? Adding contacts is a snap. Just click on the Add Contacts button under the Contacts tab and choose from the dropdown menu to enter new contacts manually or to add contacts from different sources. Now you can store all of your contact information in one place. This includes a contact s title, company, social media information, multiple phone numbers, multiple addresses, multiple postal addresses, and unlimited time-stamped notes. You can even enter contacts without an address. Contacts - All contacts in your account. Active - Only contacts you have permission to . Unsubscribed - Previously labelled as Do Not Mail these are the contacts that have unsubscribed. No permissions set - These are the contacts you have added but did not indicate you have permission to send marketing s to them. My Contact Management and Reporting Features The New Look & Feel 7
8 How do I add contacts? (cont.) If you do not have permission to these contacts, be sure to remove the check in the Permission to checkbox at the bottom of the page. If you do have permission just select the list and/or create a new list that you d like to add the contacts to. TIP: You can start typing the name of the list to bring it up or click the + button to show all the lists you have available and select the ones you d like to use. You may notice the option to add Tags when entering your contacts. This is a cool new feature that allows you to easily categorize, find, or send to a targeted group of contacts without having to make a new list every time. We ll discuss this feature in more detail in the New Features guide. My Contact Management and Reporting Features The New Look & Feel 8
9 How do I find specific contacts? It s easy to find the contacts you re looking for using the new Search box at the top left of the page. Just start typing the identifying information you have for the contact such as first/ last name, address, company, city/state, title and a list of matching contacts begins to appear. (If you re in the List Management view you can use the search box to find specific lists.) Want to change the way your contacts are sorted? Just click the Name column heading to sort by First Name or Last Name. You can also choose Ascending or Descending order. Want to see the date your contacts were added and the source? Click the gear icon in the right hand column to choose your view. My Contact Management and Reporting Features The New Look & Feel 9
10 How do I remove contacts from a list? It s easy to remove contacts from a specific list. Select the list you want to remove the contacts from. Check the box to the left of the contacts you want to remove from the list. Click the More Actions button and select Remove from list. Your contact will no longer receive communications you send to that particular list. Want to unsubscribe a contact? Click on the contact and click Permission to send and change the status to Unsubscribed. Understanding terms: Remove: Removes a contact from a list but all contact information including the address is still in your account. Delete: Deletes a contact from your account. You can add them back at any time. Unsubscribe (formerly do not mail ): Changes the permission setting for the contact so you can no longer them. You can send to the contact if they subscribe again. 11 How do I export contacts to a file? You ll now be able to export contacts to a file directly from the center column in the Contacts tab or directly from within your Reports. Just select the contacts you want then click the Export button. My Contact Management and Reporting Features The New Look & Feel 11
12 What happened to my contact growth features? All of the free tools to let people sign up for your list can now be found under Sign-Up Tools. Note: You may also notice the new functionality that allows you to create multiple sign-up forms. This new feature allows you to associate sign-up forms with specific lists. We ll discuss this feature in more detail in the New Features Guide. My Contact Management and Reporting Features The New Look & Feel 12
13 Your Contact Growth report just got a whole lot better! You can still find your contact growth report by clicking Reports under the Contacts tab. Now, in addition to seeing how your contact list is growing, you can see your contact list growth by source so you can discover which list growth tactics are working, which ones need another look, and new ones to try. 14 What happened to the Manage Bounces section of Contacts? You ll be able to manage your bounces directly in the Reports section of the tab. It s now easier than ever to clean your list of outdated addresses right from within the report and improve the amount of s that end up in your subscribers inboxes. 15 What happened to my reports? You ll gain more insights from your reports too! With the enhanced reporting you ll now instantly see how your s perform compared to your past s and to the s of organizations like yours. You can also now easily navigate between reports, search for contacts in a particular report, and add tags to contacts so you can better target your communications and get better results. With your Unsubscribe report now you will instantly see why people chose to stop receiving your communications and what you can do to keep the subscribers you have. Make sure you have the unsubscribe comment box turned on to start gaining these useful insights. Go to the Footer Options under the My Settings tab in your account.
