2 Dear Prospective Student, The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Speech-Language Pathology prepares professionals who already have baccalaureate degrees for application to graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology. Candidates who complete the post-baccalaureate certificate will demonstrate advanced integrated knowledge and skills in preparation for graduate study and eventual careers in Speech-Language Pathology in schools, clinics, and medical settings. Admission to the program requires two applications: one to UAA and one to the College of Education Speech-Language Pathology Post-Baccalaureate Program. To apply to UAA, you will need to complete an Undergraduate Application for Admission. Apply online by accessing the Enrollment Services Admissions login: (Once you are logged in, select the campus, then select Bachelor-Prior College for the application type. Under planned course of study, select Speech-Language Pathology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate.) The application to the program can be found in this information packet. 3 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: There are two admission processes. Each requires a separate application. Please note that admission to UAA and to the (COE) Speech-Language Pathology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program does not guarantee admission to the affiliated graduate program with East Carolina University.* 1. Admission to the University of Alaska Anchorage: Speech-Language Pathology Post- Baccalaureate Certificate Program 2. Admission to the Admission to the UAA Speech-Language Pathology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Enroll online by accessing the Enrollment Services Admissions login: Once you are logged in, select the campus, then select Bachelor-Prior College for the application type. You must also submit your official transcripts from all schools previously attended to the Office of Enrollment Services at the University Center by the appropriate deadline date. Admission to the : Speech-Language Pathology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate In order to be admitted to the program as a Speech-Language Pathology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate candidate, applicants must meet the following requirements. 1. Complete the Speech-Language Pathology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program Application for Admission (in this packet) and submit it by one of the following dates: June 15 th Fall Semester* November 1 st Spring Semester March 1 st Summer Semester 2. Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 for the baccalaureate degree. 3. If accepted you will need to complete a State of Alaska Background Check

Admission to the Affiliated Graduate Program with East Carolina University is primarily determined based on GPA and GRE scores. Admission criteria includes: A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for your bachelor s degree and 3.2 for the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate. GRE scores greater than the 30th percentile minimum (each subtest) and preferably greater than 50th percentile individually. In addition to the prerequisite courses, students applying to any graduate program in speech-language pathology must also have: A graduate or undergraduate statistics course At least 6 credits in biological/physical sciences (preferably physics) At least 6 credits in social/behavioral sciences Other graduate programs in speech-language pathology have accepted our courses as required prerequisites. Students should check with the programs to which they intend to apply to determine if additional coursework is required and admissions criteria.
