1 Abstract Our goal is to save the lives of many people in all states and countries. The way we plan to accomplish this is by creating a technology similar to the existing technology such as Life Alert. Our technology is called the Elder Cure. The Elder Cure is designed to save elderly people from getting injured or hurt in any way possible. There is a problem with elderly people getting injured, and not being able to call for help to come to them. We are trying to fix this problem by creating something better and more improved than the normal technologies available today. We are accomplishing this by adding different types of devices and batteries, all into one whole piece. This will most definitely save hundreds of lives throughout the world.

2 Present Technology Our goal is to save people s lives all over the world and help the elderly be able to get help easier. We would like to accomplish this by improving other inventions and making them into something new and improved. The problem is that hundreds of elderly people have been getting hurt and no one is there to help. There have been technologies such as The Life Alert to be there with those in need of help. Our new future technology is called the Elder Cure. We will be improving and using the current technologies existing. The Elder Cure is recommended for ages seventy five and up. We do not have a specific cost, but it will be affordable for everyone. The Elder Cure is a device that you will wear on your wrist like a bracelet. The first current piece of technology we will be using in the Elder Cure is the GPS. A GPS is a global positioning system. The GPS is something that will help paramedics find the person in need s location without him or her having to call and tell them their exact address. It will also be able to alert the hospital you are closest to. Our second technology is a sensor. When you press the button on your Elder Cure device, the person who you re calling will track what the problem is in your body. This will help the person you are contacting figure out what help you need. It works with body temperature, and detects your heart rate, and if you have any heart problems. Our final piece of technology that will be put into the Elder Cure will be a speaker. The speaker will allow the person who is calling to speak into the speaker clearly and it is especially made for the Elder Cure. If the person who is calling is having trouble speaking, the sensor will take care of the problem. The sensor will once again detect the person s problem if they can t speak.

3 Our new future product is better than the existing technologies, such as Life Alert because The Elder Cure has many improved versions of the GPS, speaker, and sensor. We improved the sensor to where it will detect your problem when it touches your body without having to do anything with it, The Life Alert does not have that program. We also improved the speaker to where you can speak very clear, no matter where you are. Finally, we have improved the GPS to where it can track your address and where you are anywhere in the world. These technologies in the Elder Cure will save a lot of lives.

4 History Some of the products that are existing today which solve the problem of elders falling are Motion Sensors. We have noticed that some people struggle with balancing and walking. To prevent that, someone has invented Motion sensors. Motion sensors can help detect anomalies in senior s walking behavior to warn the future risks. ( Alexander Graham Bell was the first person to create the telephone on June 2, This invention has led to many other phone inventions such as the Iphone 5, or the Samsung Galaxy. Many elders use this product for calling an ambulance or the police if they are in need of help. The next device is called the Rescue Alert, or the RA. The Rescue Alert has a six hundred foot range, with sixty to ninety hours of battery life. This invention costs twenty, to twenty eight dollars per month, and is a three and a half star device. This technology has been around for thirty one years. Another invention that we are introducing is the wheelchair. The wheelchair is a great invention that has been invented for elders, or people with a disability who are unable to walk. Many people have got this product instead of having to walk with a cane and it does save a lot of time. The Elder Cure has a speaker, sensor, GPS, and the wheelchair does not have that. The wheelchair is useful because it helps elders who normally have issues getting around. These are all inventions that have been made in the past that saved many lives. We are still planning to improve the Elder Cure in many ways that could involve some of these inventions.

5 Future Technology Our invention is a device that helps elders; it is called the Elder Cure. The Elder Cure is designed to save many elders from any harm by having the police or anyone come their way. Our Elder Cure contains a speaker, sensor, and a GPS. The Elder Cure is a wristwatch, which can turn into a necklace by choice. The wristwatch part of the Elder Cure will just be a snap on, meaning you can hook the two ends of the wristwatch, together and it will stay in place until you unsnap it by just pulling the two ends apart. This routine will be the same for the necklace part of the Elder Cure. It will also weigh about two pounds. This product is recommended for ages seventy five and up. The first feature we will introduce that will be in the Elder Cure device is the speaker. The speaker can allow the person calling the Elder Cure Company to talk and speak clearly to them. The operator from the Elder Cure Company will also be able to talk back to the person through the speaker. The next thing that s in the Elder Cure is the sensor. The sensor can detect what your problem is in your body. It can detect if a person has a disease or a virus. When a person calls the Elder Cure Company, the Elder Cure Company can tell the person what kind of medicine they suggest taking, or prescription. They also can get that person a doctor to go and see for the problem they have. The final feature that s in the Elder Cure is the GPS. The GPS in the Elder Cure can track where you are when you call them. It will help the Elder Cure Company, police, and ambulance track where you are and what your address is. Since the police and ambulance has contact with the Elder Cure Company, they can get the information

6 they need on what safety to send to that person in need of help. Such as, an ambulance. We will add a battery life that gives the Elder Cure battery for, four months. The reason for this is so that the person handling the Elder Cure can have it for an extended amount of time without having to charge it. In the future we predict that the Elder Cure will be a go to product, and will be very useful and helpful. Breakthroughs The Elder Cure is well made, but has some breakthroughs. Some of the breakthroughs involve changing devices and redesigning them. These are the things that will make the Elder Cure happen and become worldwide. For the Elder to work, it needs to run on a data plan. This is great because wherever the person goes with the Elder Cure, they can use it as long as there is cell reception. We will also be adding a solar powered battery so that you don t have to charge it. In the Elder Cure, there needs to be a battery slot inside it for the solar powered battery. Solar powered batteries are normally really big, so we need to make, or find, a different material to make the solar powered battery smaller than usual. We will also be adding an app for the Elder Cure. For this to happen we need to create it and add the speaker and texting to the new app. This will work for mobile devices that have a speaker or not. Those devices that don t have a speaker can use the texting part. This is an easy way to call the Elder Cure because you don t have to buy the real Elder Cure itself. You can get this app for free but it just won t have all the things from the real Elder Cure.

7 One final breakthrough is that we need to make a new metal material for the Elder Cure, to make it less heavy. Most metals are heavy so we need to make, or find, a new metal that is lighter than usual. This is important because if someone has sensitive bones or skin, it will be a good weight for them. It also will not be an annoyance for the person to wear. We hope the Elder Cure is a useful tool that will help the elderly in the world around us.

8 Design Process In the Elder Cure, there have been things we ve wanted to add and do, but have changed into something different. Here are some of the items we started out with. We first wanted to start out with the GPS, the sensor, and the speaker, but then we started to add a couple more things, to make the Elder Cure a lot better. We started adding the extended battery life to where it would make the Elder Cure last for four months without being charged, but then changed it into a solar powered battery. We kept the slot in the Elder Cure to hold the battery but we had to design a different material for the solar powered battery to fit into the slot. We were going to stay with what we had already with the Elder Cure, but we decided to add an app. The app has only a speaker and a texting feature inside the Elder Cure app, but later there will be a tab in the app to order the real Elder Cure itself. We also made the police able to get information from the Elder Cure Company. Before, the police were only able to talk over the phone to get their information, but now the police go easily just go online to get all the information they need, whenever they may need it.

9 Consequences In our invention, there will be some positive consequences as well as some negative consequences. Some positive consequences in our product is that our invention, the Elder Cure, has more options and better features than the normal Life Alert, such as a louder speaker (Optional), a solar powered battery, a sensor, available style options, such as a necklace or a bracelet, and a GPS. Another positive in the Elder Cure is that when someone is in need of help, they can just press the button on the Elder Cure and have help come their way faster than having to getting up and find a phone to make a call on. One more positive that the Elder Cure has, is that if someone was having trouble talking, the Elder Cure has a great speaker that can allow the Elder Cure Company hear that person, no matter how much trouble they are having at communicating. In the Elder Cure, there are going to be a few negative consequences as well. One of them is that since the Elder Cure has a data plan, it cannot connect to some places. This is not good for some people because if they re in a bad situation, and if there is no connection in that place, then they can t contact with the Elder Cure Company. Also, you would have to pay for a month to have the data plan. So that would be a big problem for some people who are a bit low on money and can t afford the payment. Another consequence is that people who have the Elder Cure, could accidently hit the button to call the Elder Cure Company. If this happens then the Elder Cure Company could think that they have a real emergency and send the ambulance to their home right away.

10 One last negative consequence with the Elder Cure is that when someone is wearing the device, they have to be in some sort of light because there is a solar powered battery inside the Elder Cure. That will be bad for some people who have really sensitive skin to the sun. Even though the Elder Cure has consequences, it is still an outstanding product.
