Australia has without doubt felt the brunt of the economic crisis and these precarious conditions have inevitably flowed through to the legal industry. The Managing Partners Forum has significantly progressed to be the key event that Managing Partners bookmark to attend each year. He has extensive experience as a commercial lawyer advising major public and private organisations. Jason has particular expertise in Australian and offshore infrastructure projects in the mining, power, transport, water and waste management industries. Jason sits on a number of industry committees. He has also presented numerous seminars on alliances and other relationship-based contracting strategies when delivering infrastructure projects and services. He holds a Masters of Laws (Distinction) from the University of Western Australia. Sharon Cook Managing Partner HENRY DAVIS YORK Since 1 July 2008 Sharon has been the Managing Partner of Henry Davis York (HDY). Sharon has developed and led a major internal transformation program to elevate HDY from being a mid tier firm with a strong but limited brand to becoming a tier one firm practicing nationally. The firm has enjoyed 35% revenue growth since 2008, and increased breadth and depth in core client relationships. In October 2012 Sharon was listed in the Australian Financial Review s 100 women of influence; recognised for her career and l eadership success in influencing a bold and diverse future for Australia. Managing Partner HALL & WILCOX Tony Macvean As Managing Partner of the firm, Tony is responsible for driving the firm s strategy, leading the firm s partners and staff, managing the firm s relationships with its key clients and representing the firm publicly. Tony is passionate about the firm, its clients and its people. During Tony s tenure as Managing Partner the firm has experienced considerable growth and success. In 2013 the firm won the BRW Client Choice Award as Best Professional Services Provider to the Finance and Insurance Sector, as well as the 2012 LIV President s Award for Law Firm of the Year. Tony also practises as a corporate and funds lawyer.
