THE ECG REVIEW COURSE is specifically designed to address a key knowledge gap in electrocardiogram (ECG) the American Heart Association's Adult ECG Course is a program focused on specific ECG recognitions skills. This is a pre-course option for ACLS students and other healthcare providers. Skills taught in the ECG module include heart anatomy, basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements and basic arrhythmias. The ECG & Pharmacology Review textbook is included in your fee. The course is conveniently scheduled on the first day of the ACLS Initial Course from ; however, if you prefer, you can take just this course and schedule the ACLS Initial Course at another time. NURSING/EMT CREDIT This program has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing rules implementing mandatory continuing education, provisions of the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act for 3 contact hours. It is the responsibility of the individual to determine if the program meets Board of Nursing criteria. This program also meets continuing education requirements for all levels of EMTs based on guidelines by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. THE ACLS INITIAL course is designed for healthcare providers who direct, or participate in the resuscitation of patients either in or out of the hospital. The goal of this course is to improve the quality of care provided to adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies by training to American Heart Association guidelines, algorithms and pharmaceutical interventions. Participants must commit to pre-course preparation & be skilled in basic dysrhythmia identification prior to the course. The Initial Course starts at 1200 on Day 1 and 0800 on Day 2. ACLS Provider Manual is required. NURSING/EMT CREDIT This program has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing rules implementing mandatory continuing education, provisions of the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act for 11 contact hours. It is the responsibility of the individual to determine if the program meets Board of Nursing criteria. The course focus is "the next step" in ACLS training. This course provides a stimulus for expert clinicians and practitioners to identify areas in resuscitation that deal with special circumstances. The case based small group sessions involve review of electrolyte abnormalities, toxicology, 12 lead ECG discussion, and cardiac arrest due to special causes. This course is an option for those needing to renew an ACLS provider card. ATLS provides a scaffold for evaluation, prioritization, education & quality assurance aimed at improving the outcomes of trauma patients by teaching established methods of trauma care. This program provides systemic and concise training for the early care of trauma patients. The ATLS program provides participants with a safe, reliable method for immediate management of the injured patient & the basic knowledge necessary to : Assess the patient s condition rapidly and accurately. Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority. Determine if the patient s needs exceed a facility s capacity. Arrange appropriately for the Patient s inter-hospital transfer (who, what, when, and how). Assure that optimum care is provided and that the level of care does not deteriorate at any point during the evaluation, resuscitation, or transfer process CANCELLATION POLICY A $100 service fee and the cost of the materials (if you have received) will be withheld from your payment if cancellation occurs. All AHA BLS courses are two year certifications. These 4-hour (Initial) courses or 2.5-hour (Renewal) courses cover the initial management of a cardiac arrest in the adult/child/infant, proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the adult/child/infant as well as respiratory arrest, & airway obstruction in the adult, child, & infant. 17 PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PEDIATRIC COURSE ENPC is a 16-hour course designed to provide core-level pediatric knowledge & psychomotor skills needed to care for pediatric patients in the emergency setting. The course presents a systematic assessment model, integrates the associated anatomy, physiology & pathophysiology, & identifies appropriate interventions. Triage categorization & prevention strategies are included in the course content. 26 NORTH MEMORIAL PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY If you are interested in attending, or have already paid for a spot at one of our classes, you may like to know what our policy is on cancellations. No refunds or rescheduling is granted less than 14 days before the course start date or until course has closed. (Non-employee loses registration fee, employee must now pay to re-take the class.) Refunds/rescheduling up to 2 weeks, full refund minus $50 handling fee Employees who no-show for BLS/CPR will be charged a $50 fee. Only unopened materials may be returned for refund. CICP and ATLS have specific cancellation policies. The policy indicated on the program flyer/brochure takes precedence.
