Demonstrate the skills used in preparing for a professional certification assessment. 2. Use communication techniques that demonstrate respect for a client s social, emotional, and mental health. 3. Satisfactorily perform the basic skills of nursing, personal care, and restorative services. 4. Demonstrate behavior that promotes residents rights. 5. WI requirements for caregiver; bars to certification and rehabilitation review procedures. C. Requirements for initial certification and renewal of certification. D. Knowledge and skills assessed on the state competency test. 1. Differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate CAN actions in clinical settings. 2. Read and complete Caregiver Background forms. 3. Complete tuberculosis screen. 4. Meet 85% attendance requirement. 5. Complete test enrollment and identification procedures. 6. Demonstrate care skills including, but not limited to bathing, am/pm cares, bedmaking. 4. Demonstrate nursing skills including, but not limited to I/O, vital signs, catheter care, positioning. 5.
