3 Self Paced Virtual Course Overview Self Paced Virtual courses (SPVCs): virtual enablement offering that provides self paced online technical training Highlights Formal Education, high-quality content as used in instructor led courses Allows access for 30 days to complete course materials at one s own pace Option to download course materials (Student Guide) to review during course and after completion Flexible training option courses are available 24 hours / 7 days a week Eliminates student s travel costs No cost to validated business partners Systems Middleware Business Partners Sponsored Education offering Courses are IBM Proprietary and may only be used by the person(s) approved for each course Link to IBM Systems Middleware Business Partner Technical Enablement Portal 3 Understanding Self Paced Virtuals (SPVCs) November, 2015

4 Business Partner Sponsored SPVCs Enrollment & Confirmation Enrollment Guidelines Students should: Enroll for only 1 course per person per 30 day period Ensure they enroll with a working address, as that will be their UserID Ensure that they have proper network/connectivity access and will have sufficient time to complete the course prior to enrolling Once confirmed, a seat is not transferable and cannot be cancelled A participant signed up for a course will not be confirmed for a second SPVC until completion of current course Students will NOT be confirmed for the same course a second time; they should ensure they download the student guide & access password for future review & reference Confirmation Process Registrations are first placed in a pending approval queue and reviewed. If you meet our program policies, you will be approved for your course. If we have questions, we will contact you via for follow up action. Seating is limited and confirmations will be prioritized based upon business partner status and previous course completion Once confirmed, you will receive a confirmation / access with direction on how to begin your course 4 Understanding Self Paced Virtuals (SPVCs) November, 2015

5 SPVCs FAQs Program Policies: Please prioritize your course preference by enrolling in 1 course per enrollment period. Access will not be granted to more than 1 course per 30 day period due to high demand. Students registering should have completed all previous courses. Students will not be confirmed for the same course a second time and may not be confirmed for a new class if they did not complete a previous course. Course extensions are provided for technical issues, with a reported ticket number; extensions are for 72 hours. NOTE: all courses are IBM Proprietary and may not be distributed without IBM permission. Are SPVCs different from free online classes? Yes, these SPVCs are deep dive education sessions that are similar to classroom sessions. The free online classes are introductory in nature. Help! I have run into technical issues and cannot start the course. Whom do I contact? Read your Getting Started instructions and ensure all required software is installed Check the Troubleshooting section in this presentation for common problems and resolutions You have an SPVC Technical Support Team to help resolve all your technical issues. Send an to lpsupp@us.ibm.com with a screen shot of any errors you get Will there be any cost attached to partners? No, not for validated IBM business partners. We sponsor enrollments for partners through the partner education program, as long as partners enroll through the IBM Systems Middleware BP Portal. Is there a maximum number of registrations that partners can sign up for? No, but per our program policies, only one course will be confirmed for an enrollment period. 6 SPVCs FAQs (cont) I have project deliverables and cannot complete the course. Can this be extended for another month? Extension of the course expiration date is not possible due to participant s time constraints. You have 30 days to complete the course. The materials are available 24 x 7. You can even download a soft copy of the course materials (PDF format) to review it offline at your own convenience. I received a confirmation , but have not received my Getting Started . Please verify that the Getting Started is not in a SPAM folder. If not, please contact Debbie Nurkin (dnurkin@us.ibm.com) to request a resend of the Getting Started . I am from a different location, will I have to register again or will the same login still work? The same login works from anywhere. I cannot find the password to open the course materials, where is this located? Most courses do not have passwords for the pdf materials. However, if you have a course with a password, it will be in the Getting Started module, which provides instructions on how to get started with the course. Please go to course material tab to download a soft copy of the course password protected materials (PDF format) and get the password to unlock them. Many courses no longer require passwords, but if you cannot find one and require it, please send an issue to the lpsupp@us.ibm.com team. I registered with one ID, but use another, will I be able to access with either one? No. Only one ID should be provided, as it becomes your User ID. My course does not have a certification voucher with it. There are no automatic certification promotions by taking a SPVC course. If you are interested in getting certified, please contact Debbie Nurkin (dnurkin@us.ibm.com) for possible opportunities. 7 SPVCs FAQs (cont) I have moved to a different project and will not be able to complete this. Please cancel my confirmation. Once a seat is confirmed, if it is not utilized, it will be considered as a seat lost What happens if a partner signs up but does not complete the course? Further enrollments to partners will depend on the performance and commitment to completing the courses I have completed my course but it still shows as in progress? The Kenexa platform requires you to touch every slide and lab exercise to officially complete a course. However, many students do not work their courses this way or do their course in offline mode. You can view your completed modules from the Table of Contents. If the course is not marked complete and you would like to have it marked, please contact Debbie Nurkin and the Support team to have it manually updated. How do I get a course completion certificate? The primary method of view and printing your completed courses, will be to view your transcript. This is available on your main Learning Portal page, after you log in.
