3 Administrator Notes I am excited to announce the addition of the Clinical Care Coordinator position here at Grand Pines which will be fulfilled by Heather Taipalus. We are confident that the addition of the Clinical Care Coordinator position will improve the services we provide. Happy Birthday to Lesley Olson 8/3 Eleanore Rycenga 8/4 Ruth Harmon 8/10 Alberdina McCann 8/12 Herman Zinnen 8/16 Elaine Bolthouse 8/20 Jaleane Heathfield 825 Donald Gleason 8/26 Sandra Komosinski 8/27 Gladys Pope 8/30 With Deepest Sympathies... Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the families of Dorothy Lloyd, Marian Brower and Peter Graves. Thank you for sharing their lives with us. My name is Heather Taipalus. I have only worked at Grand Pines a short time, but really enjoy it. I have been a nurse for over 5 years and have experience in long term care and pediatrics. I live in Norton Shores with my husband, our three daughters and our teenage nephew, who is a senior this year. Our spare time is always spent with the kids (Mallorie is 9, Paiton is 6 and Jordyn will be 2 this month) or at soccer games for my nephew, Logan. I recently took the new position as Clinical Care Coordinator and I am extremely excited for the new opportunity. Welcome to... John and Bev Bos F-23 Betty Marshall G-4
4 Marilyn Crane Marilyn Crane was born and lived in Grand Rapids, MI. She has one brother, Harold and sister-in-law, Cindy. Marilyn was a geologist by profession. She enjoys birding, walking and traveling. Spring is her favorite season. She also likes country music. Marilyn enjoys walking the grounds of Grand Pines; she has spotted wrens and catbirds in her travels. She also likes the educational programs offered here, entertainers and happy hour. Marilyn is smart, fun and has a great sense of humor. We are so pleased to have her here with us at Grand Pines.
5 Cowboy hats and bandanas were used to raise funds for NOCH Hospice. Summer picnic petting zoo Patty enjoyed holding the snake at the petting zoo. That snake was very popular at the petting zoo! Bud and Marilyn at the picnic. Yes! That is a juvenile crocodile... Our fundraiser for NOCH Hospice raised over 200 dollars. Even Norma held the snake! Frank enjoyed meeting Domino who came with the petting zoo. Margaret and her daughter at the picnic.

I love helping people and knowing at the end of the day I have made a difference. I am from Montague and grew up with a big family and now have a large family Alicia Douglas of my own. I have a wonderful Fiance Greg who is the love of my life. Together we have 7 children with 4 of them at home full time. I love watching my kids play sports and being involved in their activities, we are always on the go. I enjoy being at the beach in the Summer every chance I get. I also enjoy fishing, camping, going to the parks and taking my kids on adventures. If I ever have any spare time I enjoy scrap booking, taking pictures of my family and yard sales!! I enjoy working with all of you at GPAL and have made lots of great friends.
