13 Project: Automation of Household Chores Page Title: Details Velcro Straps The slots proved to be successful as both battery packs fitted tightly with the Velcro straps. The Velcro straps were cut down to size and stitched or glued to refit the buckle. Taking the power supply out for easy recharging of 6V battery The wires were clamped together with metal slots that fit tightly onto the battery. They can easily be taken off and put back on. Holding the vacuum cleaner in place. O rings were placed on the aluminium bar so that there would be very little movement from the handle of the vacuum cleaner. Additionally, the bar was tig welded to the base. This would prevent the bar from any small movement and meant the whole robot could be held from the top of the bar. (after the base was screwed onto the chassis with nylocks) IGCSE DESIGN TECHNOLOGY COURSEWORK Research and Development Fixing of wheels onto motor The motor shaft was too small to fit on the wheel. I had to laser-cut small shapes to fit the wheel onto the motor firmly. To do this, I needed three parts as shown below.: Construction Details The funnel is designed to follow the curve of the cleaner, holding it in place. The vacuum cleaner just touches the ground and does not rely on the grounds support - it is independent. There is enough space for the vacuum cleaner to be lifted in and out., without hitting the wheel. The weight of the vacuum cleaner will hold it down, but if there is a rise in floor level, the vacuum cleaner can rise itself, allowing for efficient cleaning. 1 st Part 2 nd Part 3 rd Part (as seen in photo) The 1 st past was made o fit the small gap, closest to the motor. The 2 nd part was made to fit the hexagonal part of the inside of the wheel. The 3 rd part overlapped everything to ensure stability of the wheel. The were glued with tensile and then glued to the wheel with epoxy resin Name: H.Rishi Set: 2DT1 Holding the switch in place The switch is tight fit. It does not wobble and it stable. The mount is attached to the bottom by screw and nylock. Therefore it is very stable. PCB removal Easy access is created to unscrew the PCB with slots Keeping Cables tidy Wires are tidied by cable ties. A hole was drilled in the base and the tie was passed through that t firmly hold the wire in place.

We require A* in maths, A in physics and one other A grade subject. We prefer further maths or design as the third A level.
