1 HLT Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled-Division 2 nursing) Content 26 units of competency (21 core units and 5 elective units ANMEC nominated) Prerequisite Entry requirements Selection Delivery Length of course Class attendance Applicants, other than mature age entry students, are required to have completed year 12 or equivalent (such as a Certificate III qualification). Mature age students are required to demonstrate appropriate levels of literacy and numeracy. Applicants must be over 18 years of age Physical ability to demonstrate the manual handling skills which are a compulsory component of the course. A recent National Police Certificate free of convictions for physical and sexual assaults. Potential students are required to sit for an LLN test and complete an online questionnaire. Classroom, on line, directed study and clinical experience. Full-time study (40 weeks of class contact time, 11 weeks of clinical placement, 4 weeks of study leave, and public holidays and end-of-year break). 2 Enrolment Students who have met all course requirements are eligible for enrolment with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Training location 191 Torrens Road Ridleyton SA 5008 This qualification is required for persons to be eligible for enrolment by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) which will enable the graduate to practise anywhere in Australia. AHPRA may require graduates to meet other conditions (especially English language skills) for enrolment and students are advised to seek advice if they believe that special circumstances exist. Role of enrolled nurses The enrolled nurse is an associate to the registered nurse who demonstrates competence in the provision of patient-centred care as specified by the AHPRA's licence to practise, educational preparation and context of care. Student registration Students undertaking a Diploma of Nursing must be on the AHPRA student register at commencement of their course. Students must be medically fit to provide nursing care, and be a fit and proper person to be registered on the register.
