2 Keynote Source: bundesregierung.de/ bundesbildstelle.de The Importance of Innovation & Entrepreneurship for Talent Acquisition Prof. Dietmar Harhoff, Ph.D. Managing Director, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition Head of the Expert Commission on Innovation and Research of the German Federal Government Biography Since 28 February 2007, Prof. Dietmar Harhoff has been chairman of the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation that has been appointed by the German Federal Government. Dietmar Harhoff is Director at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, and head of the economics-oriented department (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research). At the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München, where he was Director of the Institute for Innovation Research, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (INNO-tec) from 1998 to 2013 as well as Director of the LMU Entrepreneurship Center, he is Honorary Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Dietmar Harhoff s research focuses on issues in innovation and entrepreneurship, intellectual property and industrial economics. His research results have been published in a large number of book and journal articles. Besides advising several public and private organisations, he is an elected member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) and of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
