2 Purpose The Minnesota Nurse Practitioner and Nurse-Midwife Student conference was created to provide students with opportunities to: Learn the essential components, key negotiating points and review various types of employment contracts Receive information about employment opportunities for advanced practice registered nurses Receive information on applying for prescriptive privileges and developing prescriptive agreements in Minnesota Identify current health care trends Receive information about Prescriptive Authority and obtaining DEA numbers Learn about Minnesota's requirements for Practice Agreements Receive updates and information on legislative and policy issues Engage in dialogue with advanced practice nurses working in the field Network with faculty and colleagues The conference will also feature exhibits which will highlight: Opportunities to network with representatives from the healthcare industry Representatives from state, regional, and national professional nursing associations Books, journals and newsletters for certified nurse practitioners and certified nurse midwives And many, many more! 4 Continuing Education This program is designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing requirements for continuing education required for licensure renewal providing 6.9 contact hours. It is the responsibility of the individual nurse to determine if the course fulfills that requirement. It is recommended that out-of-state attendees contact their state Board of Nursing to ensure this conference meets their continuing education requirements.
