1 Design & Print Online: How to open Design Pro (zdl) files 1. To open a saved project you will first need to have the Design and Print online website open. Please use the following link To open the website On the Design and Print Online home page click on the Click to start Design & Print Online option as shown If you get a Get Started registration form appear you will need to fill this in before you will be able to continue. 2. When the software opens you will need to select the Open a Saved Project tab on the top left hand side. 3. On this page you will see an option at the bottom which will allow you to open Design & Print or Design Pro project from your computer. Please click on the Load Project button.
2 4. You will now be able to select your Design Pro file. When you have selected your file please click Open Please note you will only be able to open.zdl Design Pro files into the new Design & Print software. 5. You will now be in the Design Tool. You will be given a choice of 3 edit options. (i) The Edit on Design Screen option will take you straight to your saved project for you to Edit how you please. (ii) The Easy Edit Wizard is guided editing tool which will allow you to edit any pictures or text on your design. (iii) If you do not wish to edit your design at all please click on Cancel to go to your saved project. 6. Your design should no fully load into the system.
3 7. We now recommend that you resave your design as a.avery file by clicking on the Save icon. 8. You will now see the save box and you will have two options, either to save you design to your Avery Online Account or Your Computer. To save your design to an Avery Account please follow steps To save your design to Your Computer please follow steps To save your design to your Avery Account please select this Option in the save box and then click Save.
4 10. If you are not logged in or have not registered for an Avery account before you will see the Sign in or Sign Up screen. If you are already logged in please see step 11 (I) If you already have an Avery account select the Login option, fill out your details and click the Login button. (II) If you have not yet registered for an account select the Sign Up option and fill out the form provided and then click the Sign Up button 11. You will now see a confirmation message that you design has been saved online. Please click Ok. You can now either print your design or exit the design tool Knowing your design has been successful saved to go back to at a later date.
5 12. To save your design to Your Computer please select this Option in the save box and then click Save. 13. You will now get a screen with the option to download the file please click Download. 14. You will now be able to select the location to where you would like Your design to be saved. Once you have chosen this location please click Save.
6 15. The save box will now disappear and you will return to the preview page. You can now either print you Design or exit the design tool knowing your design has been successfully saved to go back to at a later date. Please note the following: This functionality only applies to DesignPro PC.zdl projects. Some projects will not transfer completely. Data that was imported into a DesignPro PC project (such as a mail merge) will not carry over to Avery Design & Print Online. The layout for your project should transfer and then you can use the easy drag-and-drop mail merge in Avery Design & Print Online to import your data. Images from the DesignPro PC clip art gallery may not import, but you can choose a new image from the extensive gallery in Avery Design & Print Online. Serial barcodes and Date/Time stamps will not import, and will need to be re-created. Barcodes that are not supported by Avery Design & Print Online will not import, but you will be able to generate QR Codes with Avery Design & Print Online.
