11 Transport Veterans Affairs Transport Assistance Gold Veterans Affairs Card Holders are eligible for assistance towards travel expenses for treatment of medical conditions. Accommodation and meal allowance may also be available. Department of Veterans Affairs White Veterans Affairs Card Holders are eligible for assistance towards travel expenses for treatment of accepted disabilities related to service. Victorian Patient Transport Assistance Scheme (VPTAS) VPTAS provides partial reimbursement for travel and accommodation costs incurred when travelling more than 100km (one way) for approved medical treatment.
