1 GLOBAL CAMPUS ANNUAL REPORT FY15 1
2 GLOBAL CAMPUS AT A GLANCE FY15 HIGHLIGHTS DEAN S MESSAGE At Kansas State University Global Campus we take great pride in helping students studying at a distance achieve their educational goals. This goal drives our activities each year and fiscal year 2015 was no different. From encouraging community groups and foundations to support distance students through scholarships, to supporting faculty and staff in professional development learning activities to continue improving the quality of K-State s online courses, we strive to provide the best online student experience possible. Blessed with new opportunities, we started the year with a visit by the Ecuadorian Ambassador to the United States as we celebrated a Day of Ecuador on the K-State campus. We then had the opportunity to put the fun into summer as we coordinated summer school courses and activities. Always striving to improve, in May we invited three deans of continuing education to evaluate K-State Global Campus practices as well as the continuing education climate at K-State and make recommendations for advances. We appreciated their advice and are working to implement many of their suggestions to contribute to future success. In fiscal year 2015 we had a record 584 graduates, added 4 new online programs and funded a record number 88 scholarships. In addition to providing more than $340,000 in program development grants, we supported the development of K-State s first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), Health and Wellness 101. Staff, faculty and programs were recognized by local, regional and national groups for their quality work, receiving a total of 21 awards. Thanks to you for your work to advance online learning at K-State. We look forward to another great year of collaboration. The K-State Global Campus leadership team (left to right): Ashley Noll, administrative specialist; Linda Teener, director of UFM Community Learning Center; Marla Wood, administrative specialist; Jeff Wolfe, director of conferences and noncredit programs; Harry Williamson, director of administration and finance; Duane Dunn, associate dean and director of academic and professional programs; Jason Maseberg-Tomlinson, director of student and faculty services; Melinda Sinn, director of marketing and communication services; Kathy Burkholder, director of information systems; David Stewart, associate dean; Marci Ritter, assistant to the dean; and Sue Maes, dean. 2
