1 Welcome to the June 2015 Succeed business update In this newsletter, we will give you a quick rundown of some of the work we have been delivering, and also an update on some of the upcoming trends or changes which affect our customers, or the HR and Payroll industry as a whole. It has been an incredibly busy six months for our clients and for our business. We have been working tirelessly together to deliver some fantastic People System projects that have made a real difference to both the efficiency and quality of HR and Payroll operations. Interestingly, whilst some of these have been large scale HR system transformation projects, we have also seen a large number of clients seeking to breathe new life into their existing systems and to augment them with a Succeed custom solution or bolt on, for example staff surveys, mobile self service and engagement and collaboration portals. Succeed news Succeed is proud to launch "elements Apps", a Platform asa Service solution designed to enhance your Oracle experience without affecting your Total Cost of Ownership The "element Apps" Platform as a Service for HR, Payroll and Workforce Management combines Succeed's experience and know how in delivering non invasive Oracle HCM extensions with a flexible business process modelling toolset, engaging UI and native social and mobile features, which enables the rapid and low cost delivery of business specific functionality that can be loosely or tightly integrated with your existing Oracle solution. Read our press release. Succeed is now specialised in Oracle Taleo We are delighted to be recognised by Oracle as a certified and specialised Taleo implementation partner. This validates our capability to consult and implement Oracle Taleo products including Recruiting, Learn and Performance thus further broadening our solutions portfolio.
2 Examples of our recent work Strategic HR and Payroll Technology Transformation Roadmaps We are continuing to work with many of our clients to discuss and shape their three to five year strategic roadmaps, based on their future business goals and priorities, their current systems and their future state technology landscapes. We particularly challenge ourselves to balance pragmatism and short term wins with longer term transformation. Delivered through a series of interactive and engaging workshops, we have found this an ideal way to shape "art of the possible" whilst gaining buy in from key stakeholders. Having completed this work with clients in Retail, Financial Services, Manufacturing and Media environments, the output is used to inform budgeting, planning and procurement conversations. Portals, UX and Engagement At Succeed we are as passionate about the usability of a system as we are about its functionality and delivery. Many of our clients share this belief and continue to strive to ensure their systems are engaging and appropriate for the end users. In the last six months, we have delivered a number of projects to improve the user experience of systems for a wide range of clients. These have included PeopleSoft portal re implementations, user centric design labs, integrated employee engagement and collaboration portals, and guided self service business processes. PeopleSoft Upgrades, Implementations and Extensions Our deep PeopleSoft capability, experience and innovation continue to be put to great use by our clients to deliver both routine and extraordinary projects. In the last six months, we have completed 9.2 upgrades, mobile Self Service deployments, Interaction Hub implementations, HR Helpdesk transformation, migrations to PeopleSoft Cloud and custom Platform as a Service extensions. The evolution of the Cloud is definitely factoring into long term thinking however we see many of our clients continue to invest in PeopleSoft given the huge flexibility of the platform and Oracle's commitment to ongoing investment. Now, with the launch of the Succeed PaaS "element Apps" we are also able to offer our clients with a mechanism of customising their PeopleSoft platforms with future proof customisations. With well over 500 combined years of PeopleSoft experience, we continue to be the partner of choice for those clients not wanting to compromise between delivery agility and project control, practicality and innovation, and professionalism and friendliness. 3 Oracle HCM Cloud Implementations As the interest in the Cloud continues to grow, so does our Oracle HCM Cloud practice. We are now specialised and certified in both Oracle Fusion and Oracle Taleo, so we can offer our clients end toend Oracle HCM Cloud Services. We are working with a number of clients to implement Oracle HCM Cloud modules, and also to assess the platform to understand where it fits with their longer term HR, Payroll and Workforce Management Technology Strategy. Key topics affecting the market To Cloud or not to Cloud With major changes under way in the software market and many software vendors heavily promoting Software as a Service solutions, it is an understandably confusing time for many organisations. Whilst a number of businesses have already embraced the benefits of Software as a Service, an equally large number are unsure of the new technology. We believe SaaS is a big step forward for software delivery and should be a key consideration for all HR, Payroll and Workforce Management solutions. We also know that SaaS will not be right in every case and there are certain situations where a greater level of control over your software is beneficial. PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrades The release of PeopleSoft 9.2 provided large improvements in functionality over 9.1 and also delivered a complete overhaul of the user interface. On its own this creates a compelling case for upgrade, but when coupled with the fact that 9.1 only receives support until mid 2017, we are seeing most customers start, or plan in, their 9.2 upgrades. PeopleSoft 9.2 uses a new selective adoption upgrade model making it easier to stay up to date once on the 9.2 application version, providing there are few invasive customisations. To support this model we have developed an approach to move customisation to our "element Apps" platform and integrate these with PeopleSoft 9.2, all as part of an upgrade. Usability and mobile Usability and accessibility of systems remains a key differentiator for organisations seeking to secure high levels of uptake and return on investment. With expectations of engaging, simple to use business systems increasing, driven largely by the rapid improvements in consumer technology, it is more important than ever to ensure that you apply usercentric design principles and deploy solutions that can meet the working requirements of the modern workforce simple systems, available anywhere, on any device, at any time. Support and Managed services Alongside the journey to the Cloud, we are also seeing a number of organisations reconsider their options for Managed Services, be it systems management, shared services, outsourced processing or end to end management of business functions. It's too early to draw any definitive conclusions about fundamental shifts in best practice, but much like SaaS we expect that there will never be a one size fits all solution. The key to making the decision will be objectively assessing the alternative options and accurately measuring the costs, benefits and risks of each operating model within your organisation.
