2 FACULTY The Crowell School of Business faculty combine an integrated biblical worldview with scholarly research, real-world experience and teaching excellence. JAKE AVILA, DPPD, Associate Professor of Management, has worked in construction management as an executive vice president and general manager. His research examines peer networks, management practices and familyowned businesses in the remodeling industries. DAVID BOURGEOIS, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Information Systems, has over 15 years of experience working for firms in information systems, including two Fortune 500 companies. He is also Director of Innovation at the Crowell School of Business and has authored two books. BRIAN BURNETT, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Accounting, worked in public accounting as an auditor for Arthur Andersen, KPMG and elsewhere. His research focuses on how legal and regulatory environments affect firm disclosure and financial reporting decisions. SHANE ENETE, MSMF, CFA, Assistant Professor of Finance, worked as an investment analyst and forensic accountant. His research includes socially responsible investing, addressing the question of how to allocate capital in financial markets in a way that is consistent with moral convictions. JEFF MCHUGH, MBA, Associate Professor, brings over 30 years of management experience to his classes in finance, management and accounting. Jeff is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and worked as a vice president for Beckman Coulter for 15 years. LARI MOBLEY, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Marketing and MBA Chair, has over 15 years of experience as an advertising executive and strategist. Her research focuses on effective value creation through ongoing interaction between firm and consumer. STEVEN RUNDLE, Ph.D., Professor of Economics, focuses his teaching and research on international economics and world mission. He has published two books: Great Commission Companies and Economic Justice in a Flat World: Christian Perspectives on Globalization. THOMAS L. WILSON, J.D., Associate Professor of Law, Ethics and Human Resource Management, has over 30 years of experience as a trial attorney. He has been named one of the top 5 percent of business litigators in the United States and has authored several articles on legal business issues. PHILIP WOODWARD, MBA, MBT, CPA, Associate Professor of Accounting and MPAcc Director, began his career in the tax department of Deloitte & Touche. He has been an assistant vice president for a savings and loan firm, and also helped develop a tax practice for financial planners.

MBA The Biola Master of Business Administration program is a 34-unit program offering three key distinctives: MENTOR PROGRAM Biola MBA students are each paired with a successful Christian businessperson who provides them with personal, one-on-one mentoring and executive coaching throughout the program. Some students have called the mentor program the secret sauce of the Biola MBA. ENTREPRENEURIAL FOCUS Students focus not only on how to start and lead businesses, but also on how to utilize God-given resources most effectively in any organization. This is the essence of entrepreneurship. HYBRID, ONE-NIGHT-A-WEEK SCHEDULE MBA classes are offered in a hybrid format, where students attend classes in person one night per week and also complete assignments and participate in discussions online. MPAcc The Biola Master of Professional Accountancy is a 33-unit program specifically designed to meet state-established academic requirements for becoming a certified public accountant (CPA). Distinctives include: SUCCESSFUL CAREER PLACEMENT Biola accounting graduates have a strong record of job placement in this highly demanding field, including placement with the Big Four national accounting firms. SPECIALIZED CPA PREPARATION The MPAcc allows students with an undergraduate degree to earn the additional number of units they need to qualify for a CPA license in most states. In the process, they receive advanced career preparation in such areas as auditing, taxation and accounting information systems. OUTSTANDING NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES As part of the Biola Accounting Society, students benefit from mock interviews, resume coaching, social events and meetings with local professionals. The Accounting Society also sponsors an annual Meet the Firms event featuring representatives from the Big Four, national, regional and local CPA firms.
