6 Local organizations Many states in the U.S. are home to local Jamaican/American organizations that are dedicated to promoting the welfare of Jamaicans and their families residing in each state. To find an organization in your state, check the local telephone book. Getting around in the U.S. There are a variety of ways to get around. Public transportation: Public transporting is one of the most inexpensive ways to get around your local community. Forms of transportation include city buses, subways and metro trains. Taxis: As in Jamaica, taxis can help get you around town. Listings for taxi companies are available in your local telephone book. 12 Sending a Western Union Money Transfer transaction Sending 4 Go to a nearby Western Union Agent location and fill out the TO SEND MONEY form. Give the form, the money you are sending and the applicable fee* to the Agent, along with a valid ID. Your MTCN is the number your loved ones will need to pick up their money transfer at an Agent location. Your MTCN can also be used by you or your receiver to check your transfer online. If calling into the Customer Service Center, you will need your MTCN to identify your transfer. Notify your loved ones in Jamaica that they can now go to a nearby participating Western Union Agent location. Give them the MTCN and notify them that, for their security, they need to show their ID in order to obtain the money. Receiving Go to the closest Western Union Agent and fill out the TO RECEIVE MONEY form. Have the person you re sending money to write down the name of the sender, the amount sent and the country from where the money is coming.
