5 The Market & The Opportunity The current population in Ireland is around 4.5 million, with over half a million seniors age 65+ (12% of the overall population). This will rise to 15% by 2020 and 29% by The percentage of people aged 80 and older will increase on average by 50% over the next 15 years. Ireland s ageing population provides an enormous opportunity for Home Instead Senior Care and their franchisees. Older people often end up having to leave their homes because they have no one there to help them with activities of basic living. Talk with family and friends who care for older loved ones and they ll tell you they find it difficult, if not impossible, to find a trusted source of home care for their parents and relatives. 7 Home Care Services The Home Care Services We Provide: We provide a flexible range of home care services that can be tailored to meet the client s needs and preferences, from a few hours a day up to 24 hours - seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Our services include: Companionship Housekeeping and laundry Meal preparation Assist with getting up and going to bed Local transportation Medication reminders Respite care at home Emergency short term care Personal care Assist with continence care and toileting Care for people with a Dementia, Alzheimer s, disabilities and chronic health conditions Post hospital discharge care Convalescence care Palliative care These services are offered through an independently owned and operated franchise with staff and CAREGivers who are responsive to clients needs.

8 Our CAREGivers Our CAREGivers Our CAREGivers are employed directly by us and go through a thorough recruitment process which includes interviews, reference checks and most importantly Garda vetting. We recruit one in 25 of all applicants for CAREGiver positions. Home Instead Senior Care have a full training programme for CAREGivers that covers all aspects of the job, and is accredited by FETAC 5 and they are supervised by a Quality Care Manager, who liaises with the person s family and monitors the clients and their care plan. Home Instead CAREGivers take pride in helping families right here in our community. They can provide assistance with everything from daily chores and meals to all sorts of life-enhancing activities such as walks in the park, outings to town, or spending time in the garden. Activities like these are proven to maximise abilities and independence. Our CAREGivers often consider their role as a vocation and have a natural passion and enthusiasm in caring for others. They are often former nurses and/or cared for an older parent themselves. The Client & CAREGiver Relationship Central to the success of the service is the relationship between the CAREGiver and the needs of our clients. We actively try to match our Clients and CAREGivers who have similar interests and hobbies as well as having the necessary training required for the clients needs. We are also sensitive to the personal aspects of the relationship with the person being cared for. This is a long term commitment and if clients are not completely content, Home Instead Senior Care will substitute the CAREGiver.

There is a strong desire by the Government and voluntary organisations to enable people to remain at home for as long as possible, combined with a strong recognition that the way care is currently provided needs to change. What type of person makes a good Home Instead franchisee? A Home Instead franchisee must be passionate about offering the best quality care, with excellent people skills and committed to making a real difference in their community. They also need to be prepared to work hard and have the right level of management skills to grow a successful business. You don t necessarily need experience in the sector and a lot of our franchise owners have come from different sectors such as Banking, IT, Hospitality and Marketing. The owner will need to recruit an experienced Care Manager in the sector who is a Registered Nurse or equivalent but no previous care experience is required by the franchise owner, but rather a passion to offer top quality care.

Territories for your Franchise As a Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner you will operate within an exclusive geographical territory covering a minimum of 15,000 people over 65. This is the optimum size for a new business in the care sector, operating our business model. Your Investment The initial cost of setting up a franchise is between 65,000 and 80,000 and includes one week s training in Omaha, Nebraska, training in Dublin, office site selection, recruiting of staff, and a full set of software and manuals, marketing and CAREGiver training materials.

Before travelling to Omaha a week long induction training programme takes place in Ireland.
