1 BUS-250 Organizational Behavior 3 credits I. Catalog Description: A study of the behavioral aspects of an organization. Concepts discussed are individual and group behavior, training, leadership traits and roles, intercommunications, perceptions, and organizational development, all leading to an understanding of organizational climate. Studied in view of Tribal and non-tribal theory and practice. II. III. IV. Prerequisites, Pre/Co-requisites, Co-requisites, Recommended: None. Recommended: ENG 096, ENG 098, and BUS 110 Rationale for Course Level: The rationale for this recommendation is based from the instructor s classroom experience with students that have challenges with reading comprehension and basic writing skills. The unprepared student struggles with understanding the business terminology and concepts. The purpose of this course is to provide the student with theories and concepts to enable understanding of the behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations in today s business environment. The interactions between elements of the organization as well as personality, leadership, motivation, job satisfaction, individual performance to achieve organizational effectiveness will be explored. Suggested Textbooks: Kreitner & Kinicki Organizational Behavior, 10th Ed, Mcgraw-Hill Publishing(2013), ISBN: V. Apply aspects of Anishinaabe culture and traditional values. 2. Demonstrate competency in reading, writing, oral communication, and numerical literacy 3. Be able to evaluate information 4.
