2 Roman Zolotoy, DO Tufts Medical Center PGY 3 My interest in serving as the Residents/Fellows Council (RFC) Advancement Representative for the Association of Academic Physiatrists originates from my appreciation for continuously making educational gains during residency. Residency is an exciting yet a relatively short time when we are given an opportunity to expand the knowledge base of our ever-rewarding field of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). During such a vital period, we need to create an environment in which residents are exposed to the fundamentals upon which our specialty is built as well as the new research advancements which drive it forward. I also believe that it is extremely important to continue to expose medical students and the general public to the services which our specialty can provide. I realize that such efforts require funding and I look forward to engaging in various endeavors to raise such funds and in the process highlighting the efforts that Association of Academic Physiatrists has undertaken to improve our training and the future of our profession. Since high school, I have taken a lot of pride in serving on various educational as well as social organizations. Those experiences will definitely serve me well if given the honor of contributing to the Association of Academic Physiatrists as the Advancement Representative. I appreciate the importance of a collaborative decision-making process, thrive on working in a team environment and have excellent interpersonal skills. I believe that serving as the Advancement Representative will provide me with an excellent platform to combine my administrative skills with my overall excitement towards PM&R and our residency training. Ultimately, my goal is to have a positive impact on other trainees, educate the public about our field and continue to improve the quality of training for PM&R residents. Through my residency experience to date, I have been able to develop a deep level of appreciation for the impact that Association of Academic Physiatrists has on residents in virtually every aspect of our residency training. I believe that as residents we need to be proactive and take a leadership approach towards making educational gains. Part of this process requires that we engage in efforts to solidify the foundation upon which our specialty is built. It is also very important to continue to undergo efforts to educate the public about our field and to continue to expose medical students to what our specialty has to offer. As such, I would love nothing more than to be able to promote, enhance and actively contribute to the evolving and exciting field of PM&R not only for my educational growth but also for that of my fellow residents by contributing to the RFC as the Advancement Representative.

Served as a physician treating heat-related illness within the main medical tent. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE April Present Massachusetts, United States - Co-Investigator - Epidemiology of Concussions in Semi-Professional Football Players - Despite the high level of athleticism, semi-professional football players remain a less-studied population of athletes compared to high school and college athletes. Study aims at investigating the prevalence of concussions sustained during semiprofessional football games, quality of on-field evaluation, and need for stricter regulation with medical coverage for games, equipment maintenance and education for athletes and coaches. February Present Massachusetts, United States - Co-Investigator - Accuracy of the Glenohumeral Injection Using the Superomedial Approach. - Clinical trials have shown variable injection accuracies of anterior, posterior and superior glenohumeral steroid injection approaches for shoulder pain. To the best of our knowledge a superomedial approach, in which a needle is inserted in the acromion-coracoid interval, has not been studied. This study aims to determine the accuracy of the superomedial glenohumeral injection approach.

5 July Present Massachusetts, United States - Co-Investigator - The Relationship Between Vitamin D Deficiency and Acute Stroke Rehabilitation Outcomes. - Vitamin D deficiency is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke and myopathy. Conversely, vitamin D supplementation has been linked to muscle strength recovery in certain ailments. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of vitamin D deficiency on muscle weakness in acute stroke rehabilitation outcomes.
