Introduction 1.1 Purpose The purpose of this document is to provide a general overview of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church s (OBC) Procedure in terms of setting up an existing copy of Microsoft (MS) Outlook 2010 on your personal computing device for the purpose of accessing OBC s exchange mail server. The content within this general overview is based on the Best Practices of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL ). 2. Goals & Objectives Setup your personal home computer or device with MS Outlook 2010 Configure MS Outlook on your personal computer or device to receive from OBC s exchange mail server 3. Notes & Warnings This procedure assumes that you already have a copy of MS Outlook 2010 installed on your computer. This procedure assumes that you have already configured MS Outlook with another account. ****WARNING*** While this procedure is designed to walk you through setting up MS Outlook 2010 and will work for the vast majority of personal computers, the procedures may have to be altered due to the make/model of your personal computer and any customized settings on your that you have made to your personal computer/device. ****WARNING**** If you do not have a copy of MS Outlook 2010 please contact the Technology Ministry at OBCMedia@OliveBranchChurch.org, we may be able to help you download a free copy. 5 4. Procedure To Set Up an Existing Copy of Outlook Go to the Windows Start menu, and select Control Panel. 2. From the Classic view, and then double-click Mail. 3. Click Show Profiles, and then click Add. 4. Enter a name for the profile(e.g. OBC Mail), and then click OK. 5. On the Auto Account Setup page, enter the following: Your Name Enter your first and last name. Address Enter your address. Password Enter the password you were provided by the OBC Director of Operations. Retype Password Enter your password again. 6. Do one of the following: Autodiscover First try Autodiscover, then click Next and skip the remaining steps in this procedure. Your account is set up according to the predetermined settings in the Autodiscover configuration. Manual Configuration To manually configure your account settings, at the bottom of the page, select Manually configure server settings or additional server types, click Next, and then complete the remaining steps in this procedure. NOTE: Complete the remaining steps only if you selected Manual Configuration. 7. On the Choose Service page, select Microsoft Exchange, and then click Next. 8. Complete the following: Microsoft Exchange Server Type one of the following, based on your Hosted Exchange version: Exchange 2007 p3pw5ex1oab001 Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church Technology Ministry 4

6 NOTE: After entering your settings, the Microsoft Exchange Server will automatically update the Exchange Server to the correct server for your account. Select Use Cached Exchange Mode. User Name Enter your address. For example, type 9. Click More Settings, and go to the Connection tab. 10. In the Outlook Anywhere section, select Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, and then click Exchange Proxy Settings. 11. In the Connection Settings section, complete the following: Type one of the following, based on your Hosted Exchange version: Exchange 2007 mail.ex1.secureserver.net Select Connect using SSL only. Select On fast networks connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP. Select On slow networks connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP. 12. In the Proxy authentication settings section, choose one of the following: For Exchange 2007 select Basic Authentication. 13. Click OK, click Apply, click OK and then click Next. 14. When the Congratulations message displays, click Finish. 15. In the Connect to window, enter your User Name and Password, and then click OK. (This is your address and password for your mailbox.) 16.
