Implemented new internationally leading research in TeleHealth and infant hearing assessment. Successful Chair of state and national Paediatric Audiology (newborn hearing screening program) committees. As chair of the national committee, steered the direction of the first national minimum audiology standards for neonatal diagnostic audiology. Established the complete physical and operational set up of the only public Audiology Clinic on the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay region. Establish quality assurance projects and implementation, including state-wide audit. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and policies. Review evidence, initiate stakeholder consultation, and implement change and new practices & policies. Consulted to WorkCover Queensland to provide advice regarding policy and procedure, with regard to new legislation. Established partnerships with commercial entities to provide significant financial support to the faculty. Manage the strategic direction of the clinic. Ensure students were provided with and received quality clinical placement. Ensure quality training within a clinical student setting, while maintaining professionalism for the attending clients. Supervise students in the clinical assessment of hearing and auditory processing disorders. Steer discussions with external stakeholders for funding and support. Audiologist/Manager Hearing aid Bank Princess Alexandra Hospital January 2003 September 2005 Project managed a program to implement assistive listening devices in a regionally based hospital. Successful management of a hearing aid bank for needy hearing impaired and deaf community members. Collated data for research. Established links with manufacturers for support for clients. Completed an audit on the mental health unit to assess the friendliness for deaf and hearing impaired patients, established recommendations and implementation of resources for the Queensland s only Deafness and Mental Health Unit. Manage the Hearing Aid Bank- not for profit supply of hearing aids to patients who could not afford the purchase of hearing aids.
