1 Instructions on how to save for uploading to the LMR Plus controller. Up to ten (10) different messages can be uploaded to the LMR Plus controller and displayed on the bottom (fourth line) of the LCD display. The maximum number of characters per message is one hundred (100) regardless of language programmed. In order to upload the custom messages to the controller, a spreadsheet file must be created on a computer and saved to a portable USB drive (memory stick). Once created, the file MUST be saved with the file name: CUSTMESG If the file is not saved with this name, the upload to the controller will not function correctly. To save the file as a.csv file type the file name and select CSV (Comma delimited) (*csv) from the Select as type: drop down menu. Then save the file. The extension.csv will automatically be applied to the file. The USB drive (memory stick) with the saved file on it, can then be plugged into the USB port located at the bottom of the logic board. (Located on the inside of the controller door). The file can then be uploaded into the logic board memory using the front membrane/keypad.

2 Spreadsheet Programming / Format Each message must be entered in the first ten (10) rows of the spreadsheet. Do not use the top row as a heading row. Each row on the spreadsheet represents one of the ten possible custom messages to be Each row can be programmed for any of the five trigger points. Refer to Table 1 for the trigger point types. Column Contents: Each column must contain specific information as outlined below. If the data is not formatted as described, the custom messages will not load into the controller properly and will not be Column A contains the message that will scroll along the fourth line of the display. The message can be up to one hundred (100) characters in length. Column B contains the trigger point reference number. Refer to Table 1 for trigger point types. Column C and D are used to determine when the custom message will appear (column C) or disappear (Column D). Refer to the specific notes regarding each trigger point. 3 Trigger Points Each custom message can be programmed to display on the fire pump controller LCD screen when a specific event (trigger point) has occurred with the controller. There are five (5) trigger points that can be selected to initiate each message. 1. Specific Date / Time Range The custom message(s) will be displayed at a specific time on a specific day as programmed by the user. The message(s) must also be programmed with a specific time and date to stop being Column C is used for the date and time that the message will Start. The date and time format is as follows: MMDDYYHHMM = Month Day Year Hour Minute Any value entered between 1 and 9 needs to be preceded by a zero (0). Example: January 31, 2008, 7:30AM needs to be entered as (24 Hr Clock) 2. Number of Pump Start Events The custom message(s) can be programmed to display once a user defined number of pump start signals has been received by the controller. Column C is used to enter the number of pump starts before the message will appear. The format is as follows: XXXXX = Number of Pump Start Events Example: To have the message appear after 100 pump start events - it will be entered as

4 3. Number of Hours Run The LMR Plus controller records the number of hours the pump has been running. The user can program the controller to display the custom message(s) once a certain number of hours has been recorded. Column C is used to enter the number of hours the pump has run before the message will appear. The format is as follows: XXXXX = Number of Hours Run Example: To have the message appear after 225 hours of running the trigger point will be entered as Specific Alarms The custom message(s) will be displayed when a particular alarm condition has occurred. Up to sixteen (16) different alarm events can be programmed to trigger the message(s) to be Column C is used to enter the alarm event number. Refer to Table 2 for the alarm events and their corresponding number. Note: All cells needs to be formatted as text. Common Alarm The controller can be programmed to display the custom message(s) whenever any alarm condition is present. No other points are required to be entered into the spreadsheet, as this message will appear anytime there is an alarm. Note: All cells needs to be formatted as text.
