1 Community Sector Monthly Report Sector 411 June 2009 If you haven t already heard, I have been reassigned within 4th Precinct as the OIC of the FMT Focus Unit. It has been a pleasure and also a very rewarding experience working with you over the past two years. Lieutenant Mauricio Tovar is the new Sector 411 Sector Commander and he officially takes over the daily operations of Sector 411 on July 13, I am very pleased to say that major crime is down 3% in Sector 411 as we head into the 2nd half of the year. At the split, Sector 411 has achieved the second largest overall crime reduction in the city out of the twelve sectors. I truly believe in my heart, if we continue to work together by communicating and reporting crime or suspicious activity while it is taking place, everything will be fine in 2009! The best is yet to come! Please continue the effort to eradicate crime from our neighborhoods Top 3 People We Want #1 #1 #2 #2 #3 #3 Melvin L. Gary Leroy Hawkins Keyana L. Barnes 401 E. 6 As I write this thank you message, I have to fight back the tears of overwhelmed joy as I reminisce about the accomplishments we have achieved over the past two years. I would like to say thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart for helping me and my Richmond Police Department family in making your neighborhood and our city a better place to live, visit, and raise a family. The Southern Barton Heights Community Association received Councilwoman/V.P. Ellen F. Robertson th District Neighborhood Association Award. Over the past two years December 31, 2007 and 2008, when the clock struck midnight violent crime, property crime, and major crime had decreased in Sector 411. Distinctively, Councilwoman/V.P. Ellen F. Robertson and Councilman Chris A. Hilbert, I would also like to take this opportunity to say I appreciate your support and respect the working relationship we ve developed over the past two years. I would like to thank our Local, State, and Federal, partners for there assistance and support during this time in helping me reduce crime and remove violent offenders from our community. In closing, I would like to thank the men and women of the Richmond Police Department for your support and dedication to duty even when I called you for advice or assistance during the midnight hour. Major John A. Venuti once said it is impossible for one person to out work, two or more people, if they work as a team. The proof is in the pudding; just take a look at what we have accomplished over the past two years. With this said we must continue to work together and support Police Chief Bryan T. Norwood as he leads us with dedication and commitment to making the community better. Lieutenant Herman W. Loney, 3rd
