The winners of the 2013 Beacon Awards will be announced during the Beacon Awards Dinner and Ceremony on Thursday, May 9, 2013, in the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill during ACC's annual conference FORUM 2013: The Value Proposition: Know It. Sell It. "Cable communicators make vital contributions to the bottom line of their companies and industry by telling cable's story, building constructive relationships with stakeholders, promoting products and services, and improving the quality of life for the customers and the communities they serve," said Pete Abel, 2013 Beacon Awards chair and senior vice president, corporate communications, Suddenlink Communications. "The Beacon Awards recognize the best of this work." Forty-two ACC members, cable communications and public affairs professionals, chose the 2013 Beacon Award finalists during an extensive judging process. The Beacon Award entries submitted this year demonstrate the cable industry's commitment to communications and public affairs representing initiatives implemented over the past year in areas such as community relations, events and observances, and social media communications.
