2 About Us Squid Wire is a low voltage cabling company which is dedicated to providing solid, reliable technology advice and solutions to support our clients needs and growth. We believe in fashioning custom solutions for our customers and we know that a one size fits all approach just doesn't work! To increase our flexibility and knowledge, our team is experienced with all of the major wire configurations, including fiber optics, inside plant, outside plant, as well as wireless solutions. We will design a structured, versatile framework that supports your business, warehouse, campus or office and is adaptable to structure changes over time. With a solid, functional foundation, Squid Wire is always able to make small adjustments and reconfigurations over time to keep you on the cutting edge. Our aim is to make technology simple and understandable in a way that supports you without added complications or extra charges. Squid Wire s designs and recommendations offer simple, practical solutions that last.
3 Cabling Network Services Squid Wire s highly trained technicians and engineers provide custom network solutions based on your company s bandwidth, network and budgetary requirements while taking into consideration factors such as the future growth of your company and potential technological developments. Our team is fully qualified to provide complete copper, fiber-optic, and specialty cable installation, terminations, upgrades, updates, maintenance and re-locations. Additionally, we represent many major brands but are also able to source any specification that you require or request. Squid Wire will document and label every detail of the cable installation to TIA/EIA Standards and provide you with a floor plan after the completion of each project. Moving your office can be a difficult, stressful and costly undertaking.when planning a move or upgrading your network, be sure to include Squid Wire early in the planning process. Think of this as the opportunity to increase your network efficiency and design your technology to suit your needs today and make allotments for expansion.
4 Fiber Optics Fiber optic technology uses light to transmit information over much greater distances than cable capability. Additionally, because there is no electric signal there is little to no interference allowing much greater speeds. This is very effective in connecting multiple locations on a campus, extending data past the CAT5/6 tolerance lengths and when building out the backbone for a building (connecting floors, or large groups to a central hub). At Squid Wire, we will access your needs and make sure you have the proper fiber (multi mode vs single mode), with the needed transmission speeds(om3 vs. OM1) and the proper terminations to insure a good connection for your network.
5 Cat 5 / Cat 6 When making the selection between CAT5 and CAT6 there are many variables to consider. CAT5 e will give your network up to Gigabit speeds when installed properly. Cat 5e will drive most network devices at their optimal speed with the added benefit of cost reduction. When entering into a short term lease (less than 5 years) or when your network does not consist of all devices, network cards and switches of Gigabit speed, CAT5 is your best option. CAT6 is the only option when you are looking long term. This will future proof your network and allow you to put the proper infrastructure for whatever systems come down the road. Additionally, the additional shielding on CAT6 will improve your network when there are devices that create electro-magnetic interference (large machines, motors, heavy electric). As always, the choice is yours, but our experts will assist you in the selection of the proper materials for your project.
