1 CBC TRUST INC Work Week Win Contest Winner Concept by Tina Bornemann Written by Rosie Fernandez INT: Benny s desk at L&P offices. SFX: Benny s cell phone rings Howdy-doodle. Benny? Oh yes. Hello Catherine. Can you come to elevators right now? Uh...is there someone to meet? Because I don t have anything sched- No. Just..come over. Right now. This damn elevator is stuck and I can t get out. And could you please bring a coffee?
2 For you? Yes, of course for me! Who else would it be for? Right. Right away! SFX: Benny hums The Freezedown by Gramercy Riffs (a song from Serena s playlist) as we hear his footsteps down the hall to the kitchenette SFX:Pouring coffee into a mug. Marshall! Put that down. SFX: Spits and sputters. What? That s Catherine s mug. I need it. She needs it. She asked me to
3 Looks like this mug is taken, my friend. But that s her mug. But it s in my hands. And I m drinking from it. Strange how that works eh bud? SFX: Punches him in the shoulder as he leaves, Benny reacts. Ow, that really that s not nice... SFX: Opening and closing of cupboards as Benny looks for another mug. Are any of these things clean? SFX: Benny s cell phone rings And Benny could you also bring me a snack. Something to eat.
4 A snack. Umm...ok. Yeah. There s an apple here. You want an apple? Do I want an apple? Yes. Yes, I want an apple. And...chocolate. I think there may be some chocolate bars on (ahem) Ricardo s desk. Oh. But I wouldn t I don t know where he is. That s ok. I m sure he ll be ok with you taking it for me. Just bring all the ones you find. Uh, do you mind me asking what s this for? I m just... famished. Alright then. SFX: Benny hangs up. Serena walks in
5 Hey Serena! How are you? SERENA Good. Have you seen Ricky yet today? SERENA No, why? Is he looking for me? Cuz I don t have that report done yet. Shit. He wants it already does he? Well don t let him know you ve seen me. I ve still got a ways to go. Hey. Maybe you could help me with it? I ll send you what I have so far. Thanks Benny, you re a doll. SFX: Walks away. No I just meant that-. Ah. Oh. Whatever. One coffee. One apple. SFX Benny walks away humming same tune again to Ricky s desk. Puts down mug and fumbles under papers What the hell do you think you re doing? Oh Marshall I almost knocked over the - you surprised me.
6 That s Ricky s chocolate! Yeah, but Catherine said - Looks like you re stealing it. Hey, give that back! And you, of all people. Really Benny. I m shocked. I better keep it safe for him. You know how Ricky gets if his blood sugar gets low. But, but, but- SFX: Marshall unwraps chocolate bar and takes a bite. That apple is a better choice for you anyhow.
7 SFX: Benny s cell phone rings. Benny where are you? On my way! But..I couldn t find any chocolate. (PAUSE) Oh. But the apple and coffee are on their way. Good. Just hurry up. Please. SFX Cell phone hangs up. SERENA Benny, did you get that apple from the kitchenette?
8 Yes, I SERENA Great! I was looking for it. I left it there yesterday. Thanks! But, Catherine asked me SERENA Oh is Catherine looking for me? Cuz I haven t called that lawyer she told me to yet. Damn. You won t tell her you ve seen me yet will you? I ll run off and do that right now. Thanks Benny! SFX: Crunches into apple. Ah, oh. Well.. SFX: Walks to elevator Catherine? Can you hear me? Of course I can hear you Benny.
9 Oh wow this elevator is really stuck, isn t it? I know. You want me to call security or something? I already have. They re trying to fix this thing without having to turn off the electricity in the whole damn place. Now did you bring me what I asked for? Uh..yup. I got your coffee. I m going to try and slip it through. Oh wow. My hand won t fit. Here let me try. Good idea. Your hand is slimmer. Ok, yeah, here, I m going to hold it out, can you grab it? I think...i. Just to the left a little...here let me try and push the elevator open a little more...oh!
10 SFX: Coffee mug gets knocked over onto Benny s shirt. What was that? Your coffee is now - it s all over my shirt. I m sorry. No, I m sorry. SFX: LOUD DING AS THE ELEVATOR DOOR OPENS. Oh, it s..good. They got it working. Thank you Benny. (Catherine walks away.) RICARDO Yeah, thanks man. (Ricardo walks off.)
11 You re uh... welcome. SFX : LOUD DING AS THE ELEVATOR DOOR CLOSES AGAIN.
