3 Equitrac Capture & Send is a new optional add on component for use with Equitrac Embedded for Xerox MFPs that provides an integrated print and scan experience. With Capture & Send, print and scan workflows can now be executed from a single application, reducing time at the MFP and encouraging users to select the most appropriate workflow. This encourages users to print only what they need and scan when they can. Allows users to capture paper based information and transform and route that information to various destinations. Scan to network folders (including home folder) destinations, Fax destinations through OpenText RightFax Microsoft SharePoint TeamSite document repositories. Deployment and administration of Capture & Send occurs in the same system manager that is in use for print management administration 3

4 Leveraging the industry s most accurate optical character recognition (OCR) technology, Nuance OmniPage, paper documents can be converted to PDF, searchable PDF, Microsoft Office formats and image formats with the Capture & Send component. This ensures that information on paper is fully searchable and is ready to be incorporated into electronic document workflows and processes once it reaches its destination. Value of OmniPage: During the scan process, documents can be converted to the Microsoft Word format so they can immediately be editable. Customers can precisely replicate spreadsheets and tables in Excel format with editable rows and columns from their paper based documents. The Capture and Send component can also create searchable, ultra compressed PDF files as well as other image formats. 4

6 As with print & copy activity, the scan activity done at the MFP is tracked by Equitrac and available in a variety of different reports. With Capture & Send, scan activity can be tracked at a very granular level, including the ability to assign prices to specific scan activity. This helps to account for time spent, and time saved through scan activity and recoup any costs via chargeback. 6
