During , 166 middle and high school students toured Mid-America 1. Continue tours. 2. Continue Roads Scholar visits.

6 Remote sensing Center and were given demonstrations of GIS, GPS, and Remote Sensing technology for the geosciences 2. Roads Scholars visits were made to 4 schools in the region to promote geosciences and Murray State. 3. Personnel in TQI and CSET have been working to promote earth science in 16 secondary schools this year and 4 other organizations. 4. At this point, no students have been enrolled as a direct result of promoting opportunities in introductory courses and GeoClub activities, but a few have expressed interest. 5. Faculty have attended Fall Senior Days, one student showed interest. 6. The Future Educators of America conference was attended. An information booth with departmental materials was provided and numerous students picked up materials. 7. The TQI Faculty Scholar has created numerous workshops and professional development projects for Earth Science Teachers in the area to enhance student interest in geosciences. 3.Continue to participate in Future Educators Conference 4. Offer geology field trips to GSC 101 and GSC 199 introductory students to promote further interest in the subject. 5. Continue to promote earth science teaching opportunities in GSC 099, 101, and 199; also through GeoClub activities. See minutes.
