2 course: lecture to students in co-operation with a retired senior public servant, hold office hours, develop course outline in co-operation with the retired senior public servant, prepare and grade assignments, tests and exams. Further information on the class can be obtained from the Philosophy Department and the. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. (Philosophy); specialization in the subject matter of the course, in particular in Business Ethics and Ethics more broadly construed; and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Specialization will be determined on the basis of teaching experience and/or research experience. Teaching experience shall be in upper level classes (third year, fourth year and graduate level) dealing with this subject matter. Research experience shall include either a completed PhD dissertation, or substantial publications in recognized journals, both squarely in the subject matter of the course. 3 (1) Part-time Academic Posting Posting Date: September 18, 2013 Application Deadline: September 27, 2013 Position: Two (2) Sessional Lecturers MGMT 2803 Management in the Public Sector (Jan to Apr 2014) (1) Monday/Wednesday (2) Monday/Wednesday Department: (Bachelor of Management Program) Pay Rate: In accordance with the CUPE collective agreement Work Assignment: The Sessional Lecturer will be responsible for a half credit course in the area of Management in the Public Sector offered to undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Management program. The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class and be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. The candidate reports to the Director of the School. Requirements of Position: Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D or Ph.D candidates in a relevant field or applicants with at least a Masters Degree who hold or have recently held positions at the executive level within government departments. The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class and be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Preference will be given to applicants with a PhD or PhD candidates or Senior public servant in the Public Sector with at least a relevant Masters Degree and with experience teaching Economics at the graduate or upper undergraduate level. Recent relevant public servant experience is an asset.
