In addition, Ms. Elizabeth Sadler, Ms. Jetta Elliott for fulfilling critical roles and responsibilities when called upon. Many thanks to each and every one of you! As many of you are aware, 2013 s annual Baylor Alumni Dinner in Chicago was cancelled; federal budget constraints and policies made business travel for many of our Alumni challenging. We hope that the new year brings better luck...the board has begun preliminary planning for next year s annual event for a limited-risk social event to bring our Alumni together at the ACHE Conference in Stay tuned for additional details in follow-on newsletters and postings to our social media sites. Congratulations to this year s Distinguished Alumni Award winner, Rear Admiral Rebecca McCormick-Boyle, class of She s a twenty-seven year Navy Nurse Corps Officer and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. RADM McCormick-Boyle has a distinguished career and a proven track record as a healthcare leader within our Military Health System. Congratulations! Over the past year the board worked diligently to achieve 501(c)3 federal non-profit organization status. We are happy to share with you all that we ve met this goal! We can now reach a broader base of potential benefactors and provide tax incentives for charitable donations. This new status has required a much more intense administrative effort, including active management, formalized meeting structure, additional board members and annual tax filing from our board members. Many thanks goes to the main campus alumni staff for their assistance to the Army-Baylor Alumni Association gaining federal non-profit status. In addition, we re making great strides migrating/nesting our current website at onto the main campus alumni website at Leveraging the main campus website and staff provides our Association the necessary tools and resources at no cost to maintain an updated, modern and professional website that our alumni deserve and have come to expect; best of all, we ll maintain the full autonomy that we ve been accustomed to for the past decade.
