1 The NFRN Mutual Limited Business Cover Summary Employer s liability, Public and products liability Important information This cover Summary is designed to give you general information about your cover with us including new covers, anything significant that we do not cover and what you have to do to make sure your cover is valid. This is not your actual cover; this is shown in your Certificate of Entry and Cover Wording. Please read both those documents to understand what is and what is not covered Certificate of Entry Your Certificate of Entry shows the Sections of the Cover Wording included in your cover. It also includes your details, the cover period, the limits of cover, the excesses and any special terms that apply and the amount of your contribution. Please check your Certificate of Entry carefully. If there are any mistakes, if any information is missing, if you want to change your cover, or if you have any questions about your Certificate of Entry please let us know straight away. We will send you a new Certificate of Entry at each renewal and when your cover is changed Cover Wording Your Cover Wording sets out the different Sections of the cover. Each Section tells you what is covered and what is not covered. It explains how to make a claim, when and how we may agree to make a payment and the conditions and exclusions which apply Your Cover Wording explains when you should tell us about any changes that could affect your cover and what you should do to keep your property safe Please read your cover Wording carefully to make sure you understand the terms and conditions. If you have any questions about your Cover Wording please contact us What is a Mutual? A Mutual exists to serve and protect its Members. It has no shareholders so is not run to make a profit for shareholders. All Members pay contributions into the Mutual scheme and are entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting and vote on important matters which include who is on the Board What is the NFRN Mutual Business Cover designed to cover? We provide cover to help with financial loss for things like damage to premises, stock and contents, loss of income if a business cannot operate for certain reasons, or legal liability if a member of the public or an employee is injured Who manages this cover? We have appointed Regis Mutual Management Limited to handle the day-to-day management and administration. We and Regis Mutual Management Limited are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. You can check this on the Financial Services Register by visiting the FCA s website fca.org.uk/register or by contacting the FCA on Who provides this cover? This is a Mutual cover which means, apart from the Employers Liability Section, the Members contributions provide the funds to pay claims and administer the cover. Employer s Liability insurance is provided by Builders Direct SA which is registered in Luxembourg, company registration number B , registered office 253, 1
2 Rue de Beggen, L-2215 Luxembourg. Builders Direct SA is authorised and regulated by the Commissariat aux Assurances and subject to limited regulation by the FCA. Details about the extent of authorisation and regulation by the FCA are available on request Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) You will only have to pay IPT on the part of your contribution that is the premium for your Employer s Liability insurance Duration The NFRN Mutual Business Cover normally lasts for 12 months from the date shown on your Certificate of Entry and can be renewed each year. You need to review your cover from time to time to make sure it is adequate for your needs and circumstances Information and changes It is very important that you answer the questions we ask you accurately and to the best of your knowledge when you first arrange Cover, make changes, renew or make a claim. You must tell us about any changes to your business, any new expensive items you have bought or if anything has happened that means you would give different answers to the questions you gave before If you do not tell us about any changes or your answers to our questions are not accurate, we may not be able to help you with all or part of your claim and your cover may not be valid Cooling off period We hope that you are happy with your NFRN Mutual Business Cover. If you decide you do not want it you can cancel in the first 21 days from when a cover period first starts or when you first receive or can access full details of your cover if this is after the cover period Provided you have not claimed in the cover period we will give you a full refund of the money you have paid for that cover period Making a claim To make a claim you can call or Monday Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and at all other times us at claims@nfrnmutual.com write to us at The NFRN Mutual Limited, Floor 3 Westcombe House, 2/4 Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN4 8AS Full details of what you need to do about a claim are in your Business Cover Wording Complaints process We hope that you will be pleased with the service and cover provided. Further details of the complaints process are contained in your Business Cover Wording If you want to complain about a claim or the cover under Section 15 Employer s Liability you can call the Builders Direct SA Complaints Officer on complaints@rmml.com write to The Complaints Officer, Builders Direct SA, c/o 7 Maltings Place, 169 Tower Bridge Road, London, SE1 3JB Renewing your Cover Before each renewal date, we will tell you the contribution, terms and conditions that will apply for the following year. If you wish to change your cover or you don t want to renew it please tell us before the renewal date If you pay by direct debit we will automatically renew your cover for you and collect your contribution unless 2
3 you tell us you don t want to renew this way. For all other types of payment you must contact us to arrange payment before the renewal date Cancellation You may cancel your cover after the cooling off period by giving us at least 14 days notice and you must tell us if anything has happened that could result in a claim If you cancel, you may be entitled to a refund of some of your contribution provided you have not made a claim in the current cover period We can cancel your Cover by giving you at least 14 days written notice but you may still be able to claim for something that happened before the cancellation date. If we cancel we may refund the contribution already paid for the rest of the current cover period Your information This section contains important information about the details we hold about you your directors or business partners Please read this section carefully and also show it to anyone whose personal information has been given to us in connection with your cover Using and sharing information The personal information we hold is the information we receive through our dealings with you, the administration of the cover and your membership of the Mutual. It may include information we obtain from other people, businesses and organisations. We will keep the information for a reasonable period We may use personal information to make decisions about accepting you as a Member of the Mutual and providing cover understand our Members needs and requirements investigate, process and pay claims administer the cover and collect contributions recover debts and damages detect crime and prevent fraud market research This may involve giving information to our Managers, insurers, underwriters or re-insurers, loss adjusters, legal advisers, other service providers, and fraud prevention agencies in the UK and abroad. We will not give information to anyone else unless the person agrees or we are allowed or required by law to give it or we are involved in a sale, merger, reorganisation, transfer of business or dissolution When we receive sensitive personal information, including any medical or criminal record information, we will only use that information for the purpose it was given to us and to provide cover. Please make sure that you only give us sensitive personal information about other people with their agreement We may use information about you in order to comply with financial sanctions which apply in the UK and internationally. This will include checking your information on HM Treasury s lists of financial sanctions targets. A contract will be in place to make sure that personal information is protected when we give it to businesses and organisations in countries that do not provide the same level of personal information protection as the UK. Law enforcement agencies and other authorities can ask for personal information to detect or prevent crime or to comply with legal obligations. If they ask we have to give the information We may, from time to time, change the way we use personal information. If we believe that it would not be reasonable for Members to expect us to change in the way we have, we will write to each Member and explain the change. If we do not receive a Member s objection to the change within 60 days then it is accepted that the Member has agreed to the change Members and other people whose personal information we hold have a right to ask for a copy of the information and a right to have any inaccuracies corrected.
