1 Agilent Voice Print/Data Print Configuration Guide The voice print/data print system is designed for automated testing of wireless voice and data networks. It automatically collects and analyzes call quality data and provides a fast, accurate, and reproducible means of assessing how subscribers perceive a wireless network s performance.

3 The voice print/data print system consists of two major elements: the Mobile Quality Module (MQM) and the Fixed Quality Module (FQM). The MQM is located in a survey vehicle or carried on foot and measures the downlink. The FQM consists of a Voice Quality Module (VQM) for voice testing and/or a Data Termination Module (DTM) for data testing. These units connect to the fixed telephone network and provide information about the uplink voice quality for voice and loopback for data network testing. The voice print/data print system is designed for either pedestrian or in-vehicle use. The voice print/data print system supports up to four integrated controllers that each support up to two tracking phones (depending on technology) and two high speed scanners. In both configurations, the MQM includes tracking telephone(s), scanners, a navigation subsystem, power supply. The data collection software runs under Windows 95, 98, or NT. Antennas, cabling, and mounting hardware are also part of the MQM. The data collection software requires a PC with Windows 95/98 or NT running. 3

8 The voice print/data print system is available with three vehicle based installation options. Car pack provides mounting and power cabling for one integrated controller, supporting up to two call tracking phones and two scanners. Trans pack provides mounting and power cabling for two integrated controllers supporting up to four call tracking phones and four scanners. Alternatively, it can be configured for one integrated controller and one navigator plus unit. Multi pack provides mounting and power cabling for four integrated controllers supporting up to eight call tracking phones and eight scanners. All three installation options employ quick release mounting that enables integrated controllers to be easily transferred from a vehicle to a field pack or vice versa. Note: the trans pack and multi pack units use USB connections and require Windows 98 for the test and measurement software.) Field pack is designed for portable use, and allows a single person to easily carry one integrated controller (two phones and two scanners) indoors or to areas not accessible by vehicle. When configuring your system, you need to first decide how many phones and/or scanners are required. Also, you need to decide whether you want to test voice and/or data networks and then select the appropriate type and number of integrated controllers. 10 PC requirements The voice print/data print requires a PC to control the measurement hardware and log the collected data. Agilent provides a Fijitsu pen tablet computer for use in the voiceprint/data print system. You may order 86156A Option 030.
