3 About Your Workshop Coordinator: Prof. N. K. Chadha Prof N. K. Chadha, the President of IAPP, is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Delhi. 4 Dear Friends: IAPP is pleased to announce a full-day Post-conference workshop that would provide you an opportunity to learn specifically about application of positive psychology and positive behaviors at workplace. The sessions will help you to understand through interactive and experiential exercises the practices of positive psychology that you can incorporate into your daily life right away. The workshop is intended for academicians, corporate trainers, executives, middle managers and team leaders who are keen to go beyond running on average and starting the day with a business as usual approach. The Introduction: Organizations today are functioning in a complex, fast-changing and stress-laden environment which is ambiguous and unpredictable in nature. It requires the workforce to have People-Smart competencies so that they go beyond fixing problems and into promoting excellence. Management and human resource professionals need creative and engaged employees who don t just do the work but do good work or best work. In such a milieu, the field of positive psychology has emerged as an essential contributor to success in business world. Its unique focus on human flourishing, positive emotions and constructive, positive side of the people helps in building psychological capital and understand the key ingredients of success, performance and productivity. Objectives: On completion, participants will be able to: Understand self from the perspective of positive psychology. Recognize the role of emotional intelligence in positive workplace behaviours. Practice elements of positive thinking as an alternative to conventional thinking. Explore the phenomenon of leadership from the lens of positive psychology. Promote & support positive emotions in their groups, teams and organizations. Understand how their behavior and that of their peers encourages or stifles positivity at work. Apply the tools and techniques of positive psychology that they learnt into their work place and personal lives. Methodology: The methodology designed will emphasize on the development of competencies through extensive use of interactive workshop. Real challenges faced by an individual/team/organization will be subjected to the tools and techniques of positive psychology to achieve the challenging target. The support material in the form of case studies, experiential exercises and activities applicable to workshop would be provided within and at the end of each session. A rapid implementation program has been designed wherein the participants will be encouraged to learn and share immediate responses in the workshop.

5 Workshop Programme: The workshop is designed to encourage participant engagement through the use of case study material, interviews, reflective questions and hands-on exercises. The aim is to deliver an accessible amount of key academic principles whilst relating these to the practice of management. In pursuit of this aim, the main content of the workshop text and material has been divided into five distinct sessions stretched along the entire day. Session 1: Session 2: Session 3: Session 4: Session 5: Positive Psychology at Work: An Introduction Understanding Self from the Perspective of Positive Psychology Positive Workplace Relations Emotional Intelligence and Positive Workplace Behaviors Acquiring and Enhancing Positive Skills through Learning and Practice All sessions will be run as interactive workshops with a high degree of participation and group exercises.
