There are a number of discount scheme, which helps you to make your pay packet go that little bit further. You can get money off retailers nationwide, and there's also the chance to get money off bikes to cycle to work, go green and get fit at the same time! We have also worked with local and national businesses to offer discounts to you, whether it s allowing staff to claim student discounts with an NUS Extra card, financial support and advice from local experts, or a reduction on your RAC membership. If you commute to work, then you will benefit from free parking at all three Colleges. You can also take advantage of the services inside the College, like getting a check-up at the motor vehicle workshops, borrowing from the library or join the Activ Zone gym at a fantastic price. The College is proud of the benefits it has to offer staff. Benefits are on-going and as well as those mentioned in this booklet, further initiatives are always being worked on and communicated to staff via and on GO!

3 Finance With finances and financial planning a key part of life, the College offers a generous pension for both Curriculum and Support Staff. Childcare vouchers are also available to all staff. Financial Planning Financial support can be provided by Weslyan who can provide guidance on all aspects of financial planning including but not limited to Insurance, Loans, and Mortgages. Meetings can be arranged as well invitations to attend seminars on key areas of interest such as pension planning, or retirement. Weslyan can be contacted directly on Tel: or via their website Pension Final Salary Pension schemes are offered for both Support and Curriculum staff (Local Government Pension Scheme and Teachers Pension Scheme respectively). This is a highly desirable benefit with contributions being made from your monthly gross salary (before you pay tax) with a healthy contribution from the College too. The Local Government Pension Scheme is a nationwide scheme and is considered to be a valuable part of the pay and reward package for employees working in local government. The scheme is administered for the College by Surrey Pension Fund (part of Surrey County Council). A well established scheme which will follow you throughout your teaching career, supported by MyPensionOnline which lets you check and manage your personal pension information online. Further details can be obtained by visiting Free Parking On-site All three Colleges offer staff free parking throughout the day, which operates on a first come, first serve model, with Guildford and Farnham Sixth Form Colleges situated within walking distance of the town centre. Childcare Vouchers Childcare vouchers are a scheme run directly by HMRC since 1998, tax efficient way of funding childcare for your dependents. Up to 243 per month of your gross salary can be exchanged for vouchers, which can then be transferred to your childcare provider electronically. 4 Well-being As an employer, the College will encourage all staff to maintain a healthy work-life balance and as such will promote initiatives for staff to enjoy. Annual Leave For Business Support Staff, the College offers 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part-time employees), which starts on 1 September and ends on 31 August to coincide with the academic year. In addition, the College recognises 8 UK bank holiday dates throughout the year. After 5 completed years of service, a further 2 days annual leave is rewarded to Business Support Staff. For Teachers, the College offers 37 days (plus 8 bank holidays) annual leave per year (pro rata for part-time employees), which starts on 1 September and ends on 31 August to coincide with the academic year. Please note that holidays are only to be taken outside of term time. At the discretion of the Principal, the College may operate Christmas Closure whereby all three Colleges close from the last day of the winter term until early January. Teachers at Farnham College have alternative leave arrangements. These days do not form part of your annual leave allowance. Discounted Gym Membership Active Zone offers reduced membership rates of just per month for all staff. This includes access to all items of equipment (including treadmills, rowing machines, x-trainers, exercise bikes, weight machines and dumbbells) as well as all classes, which include Zumba and Spinning amongst others. Gourmet Society/Tastecard Enjoy discounted meals at a number of eateries across the UK as well as discounted cinema tickets and other incentives. Reprographics - offering a very competitively priced service for staff wishing to have private work printed. 7 Celebration The College like to celebrate success and throughout the year, a number of events take place, which all staff are encouraged to take part in. Staff Parties There are two College wide parties organised on a yearly basis. The first is the Christmas party held at Woodies at Merrist Wood College. The second is a summer party at the end of Term 3, with each year tending to have a different theme. Previous themes have included a casino and sports day. Long Service Recognition The Long Service Awards recognise the achievements and commitment of staff who have been at the College for 10 years or more. Employee Engagement Awards Awards are open to all staff members to nominate employees and/or teams that have provided an outstanding service and have gone above and beyond in their roles. Winners are decided upon by a voting panel and announced at an awards ceremony.

8 Health All staff and their families are eligible to make use of the Employee Assistance Programme and self-funded Private Medical Insurance Employee Assistance Programme Provides 24/7 telephone counselling, legal and financial advice and general support services on both personal and work-related issues. 9 Career The College will endeavour to enhance staff careers where possible and assist with bursaries. Professional Development We can provide bespoke training and be responsive to your individual and team needs. We will also support attendance to external courses and conferences where appropriate. The Guildford College Group are part of the FE Sussex Group and the local schools partnerships, these networks also provide many training and development opportunities. Bursaries CPD, as an integral part of the HR Department, can provide support for a professional or academic qualification at level 4 or above. This is a maximum of 1000 per academic year and a bursary agreement must be completed. A Training Agreement will need to be signed for all bursaries granted. Industrial and Vocational Updating Staff are encouraged and supported to keep up to date in their vocational areas through work experience and industrial updating. Teaching staff should be undertaking this on an annual basis. Visits to other Colleges and organisations to learn and share best practice is also encouraged as it is recognised that we are evolving and continually looking for ways we can improve. Teaching staff are required to undertake three days updating every academic year. Talent Management Talent management is a critical factor in developing successful organisations. In our fast paced and constantly changing world there is a need for organisations to develop 'talent pools' of great staff for the future direction. In line with the College s 5-year-plan to become an Employer of Choice, HR is currently working on a bespoke Talent Management Scheme - watch this space! CPD Days With a comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) service, the College will endeavour to enhance staff careers where possible. CPD run three INSET days per academic year and these are beneficial to both Curriculum and Support Staff. CPD run a number of INSET days across the three campuses, which are beneficial to everyone.
