2 The company/ background Our client is part of an US based company leading in the field of motion & control. The company employs app. 60,000 people of which app. 17,000 are working in Europe, 4,500 are based in Germany. The Pump&Motor Division with 570 employees in three European locations is part of the Hydraulics Group. To support future growth of the division we will search for an entrepreneurial thinking Business Development Manager. We are looking for a strategically thinking and operational acting Manager with the right technical and commercial expertise and cultural understanding of an internationally orientated leading player in the field of hydraulics. The company is awarded as one of the best employers worldwide in its industry with a fluctuation of less than 1% of employees in the group per year. Location Chemnitz Basic description In his/her role, the Business Development Manager Hydraulics supports and drives the corporate sales companies throughout Europe towards divisional goals. The focus of the position holder will be to create a growth strategy for product lines (mainly piston pumps/industrial pumps) and to reach or better exceed Parker s growth targets. The position holder will report to the Division Business Development Manager and leads a team consisting of three Product Managers and one Application Engineer at present.

To support future growth of the division we will search for an entrepreneurial thinking Business Development Manager.

3 Depending on performance, the incumbent has the chance to grow into the Division Business Development Manager role or in other relevant management roles inside the corporate structure of an US based stock company. The position is based in Chemnitz (300 employees). The Business Development Manager closely will cooperate with his BD-colleagues, one based in Chemnitz and mainly in charge for gears in mobile applications and with his/her BD-colleague based in Sweden (fixed & variable motor/truck pumps). The Business Development Manager with a clear growth strategy will guide, motivate and support the sales engineers in the corporate sales companies. Together with his/her experienced team of Product Managers and an Application Engineer the position holder will provide excellent technically and commercial support to the sales organizations in Europe. The incumbent initiates and leads projects in cooperation with design and technical specialists and with it contributes to future divisional product portfolio and product lifecycle management. In his/her role the Business Development Manager elaborates product launch strategies, annual sales growth and marketing plans. On Divisional and Group Level, the Business Development Manager will participate in the definition of mid and long-term marketing strategies. The tasks include product-, market-, and competitor analysis and participation on trade fairs. The incumbent monitors and evaluates market trends and activities in the market in order to propose marketing strategies to improve the organizations position and profitability in the European region.

He/She reviews pricing approval with final decision from Strategic Pricing Manager. An important part of duties is the management and motivation of the team. The position holder is responsible to provide the team with skills required to meet existing and future needs by creating meaningful training and development plans. He/She and the team conduct productand application training for the sales organizations and Key Customers. In an operational and strategically role, close to the divisional board, the position holder will help to grow the division supported be a high quality team. Requirements Candidate s profile functional Technical requirements: The ability of comprehensive understanding of the Company s business, market and corporate philosophy Strong marketing and ideally sales experience acquired in hydraulic systems technology Strong commercial and technical awareness Excellent strategic thinking and operational acting, including negotiating abilities Proven project management skills Committed to delivering results Strategic ability to see the bigger picture Long-term approach and customer orientation

5 Proven leadership skills and several years of professional experience in relevant industry Highly developed skills to motivate, inspire and persuade teams and decision makers on all levels, internally and externally Strong understanding of multinational culture Excellent communication and presentation skills Education and Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant degree Experience in hydraulic systems or components sector Fluency in English, German is a must; Swedish would be a plus personal The successful candidate should be a hands-on person who likes to coach and motivate people and make them successful. He/she is a strong project and task-orientated leader delivering results in a flexible way and in a short period of time. The new Business Development Manager brings along excellent interpersonal and communication skills and he/she effectively and persuasively presents information on all levels internally and externally.
