2 Invitation In cooperation with the Verband der Chemischen Industrie e.v. ("German Chemical Industry Association" - VCI), the European research and education initiative Climate-KIC, Europe's largest public-private partnership in the field of climate change, is delighted to invite you to a day-long information and discussion event on the topic of greenhouse gas and environmental balancing as an element of sustainability reporting that will take place in the Industriepark Höchst (industrial park in the German city of Frankfurt am Main) on 15th May On the morning of the event, experts will provide you with an overview of the different methods used in the area of greenhouse gas balancing and explain guidelines for the chemical industry based on the GHG Protocol. In the afternoon, experts from the Carbon Disclosure Project will report on the role played by corporate greenhouse gas balancing. These experts will be joined by representatives from consumer industries, who will inform participants about challenges and customer requirements relating to greenhouse gas balancing within the supply chain. You will also have the chance to hear a field report on the implementation of greenhouse gas balancing measures at companies. Both the morning and afternoon session will be brought to a close with a thematic discussion round with the event speakers. Please note: Alongside this one-day event, your company can also benefit from further support in determining its CO 2 footprint in the form of an additional collaborative project between Climate-KIC and VCI, organised by the Provadis School and scientifically supported by the Technical University Dresden, that is funded by the EU and focuses on the practical use of these processes. In an 18-month-long projectoriented educational programme, professional advisors will provide companies in the chemical industry with practical support in determining their CO 2 footprints. 6 How to find the Industrial Park Ho chst Travelling from Frankfurt Central Station When coming from Frankfurt Central Station, take the S1 "S-Bahn" suburban train in the direction marked "Wiesbaden Hbf" or the S2 in the direction marked "Niedernhausen Bahnhof" and get off at the stop "Frankfurt-Höchst Bahnhof" ('Frankfurt-Höchst Station'). You can also take the RE20 Regional Express train in the direction of Limburg or the RE10 in the direction of Neuwied until you reach the stop "Frankfurt-Höchst Bahnhof".: Once you have arrived at Frankfurt-Höchst Station, walk past the bicycle shop on the right and cross the pedestrian footbridge, passing the Provadis School of International Management and Technology until you reach the "Tor Ost" ('East Gate').
