1 Out-of-District (Non-Resident) Transfer Student Packet Transfer Student Applications may be submitted throughout the course of the school year. Applicants should print, fill out, and submit a completed packet. All listed items must be included for consideration. All non-resident transfer students will be considered on a case by case basis and decisions will be based on class size and building capacity. Should class sizes and building capacity be an issue, accepted applicants will be randomly drawn to receive admission.
2 FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT I would like to thank you for taking the time to consider the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation. We are in the middle of some exciting times in our district as we are experiencing a resurgence of growth and opportunity. I believe that if you explore our corporation you will find many talented and servant driven individuals who are dedicated to seeing our students leave here with the tools they will need to find success in their chosen path. MVCSC has been identified as an A exemplary school district. This is a result of the hard work of our staff as we strive to offer the very best learning opportunities possible for our students. However, we are committed to a focus on quality continuous improvement in our district with a student s first approach. 5 PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGNATURE PAGE In submitting this application for enrollment as a Non-Resident/Transfer Student, I am indicating that I understand the conditions of enrollment as described in School Board Policy I understand transportation is the ultimately the parents responsibility. Transportation outside of the school district boundaries will not be provided by the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation. I understand the Superintendent has the final authority over approval of this application and that the Board of School Trustees will not hear any appeals. I understand that the continuation of Transfer Student status is contingent upon my child remaining in good standing as a student. / Parent Signature Date The following factors should be reviewed when considered enrollment in the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation: 1. Transfer should be for educational purposes 2. Final approval for admittance is made by the MVCSC Superintendent 3. MVCSC has the right to place the student in the building/class deemed most appropriate 4. MVCSC is not responsible for the transportation and transfer of students to and from school. The Parent/Guardian must be able to provide transportation. Bus transportation may be provided to a relative or daycare provider living within the school district boundaries. 5. Parents/Guardians are responsible for obtaining an official transcript and immunization records prior to admittance. 6. The student must not have excessive absences or disciplinary infractions from another school per Indiana Code J. 7. Returning transfer students must submit an intent to enroll by May 1st each year. Disciplinary actions such as expulsion can be a cause for denial of re-admittance.
