2 Let CLEP help you Let CLEP help you forge ahead on your path to a college degree. By earning a qualifying score on any of 33 CLEP exams, you can receive college credit for what you already know. CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-exam program. There are 2,900 colleges and universities that will recognize your comprehensive subject knowledge acquired through course work, independent study, travel, special interest, military service schools or professional development.
3 Effective December 11, 2010, DANTES will not fund retesting on a previously funded CLEP exam. However, service members may personally fund a retest after waiting six months. Each college sets its own policy regarding which CLEP exams it will grant credit for and how many credits it will award. Contact your admission officer or academic adviser to learn more about the CLEP policy at your institution.
4 Testing Options Computer-Based Testing at National Test Centers on Base All 33 exams are available on computer. Scores are reported immediately (except for College Composition). DANTES funds the CLEP exam fee up front. Military personnel pay only the registration fee charged by the college. Contact the test center directly for more information about registration, scheduling and fees. Search for the nearest on-base test center at cleptestcenters.

CLEP exams are funded by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) and are free for all eligible military personnel and some civilians, spouses and veterans. Be a part-time student with full-time credits. Even if you work full time, the CLEP credit you earn can help you graduate in record time. Get promoted. Earning college credit through CLEP can help satisfy college requirements for commissioning programs. Don t cover the same ground twice. Skip introductory courses and move on to more advanced classes or take more courses.
