3 FSK Foundation Skills Training Package Delivering better outcomes for learners, trainers and employers Focusing attention on the core skills required for vocational competency in supporting the development needs of all learners. Enabling more vocational trainers and RTOs to create programs that integrate foundation skills. Fostering collaboration between foundation skills practitioners and vocational specialists. Prioritising the vocational goals of learners alongside the skilling demands of employers and industry.

4 Qualifications The qualifications in the FSK Foundation Skills Training Package are designed to provide the foundation skills required for entry-level vocational training and for workforce entry Target learners individuals outside of employment and existing workers who need extensive foundation skills There are 3 qualifications in the FSK Foundation Skills Training Package and 91 stand alone units. The qualifications are: FSK10113 Certificate I in Access to Vocational Pathways FSK10213 Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways Endorsed components can be accessed from <

5 Content of the FSK Foundation Skills Training Package Units of competency have been organized into six skill groups: learning (LRN), reading (RDG), writing (WTG), oral communication (OCM) numeracy (NUM) and digital technology (DIG). Units of competency in the FSK Training Package have been aligned against the ACSF across all levels from very basic (pre-level 1) to high level skills at Level 5. This alignment provides users of FSK with a detailed picture of the expected level of performance. Training package units of competency are not aligned to an AQF level. This is particularly important for the FSK units because they can be used to support the foundation skills development of learners undertaking vocational qualifications at any AQF level. Refer to Matrix FSK Foundation Skills Training Package is not designed as an ACSF assessment tool.

14 Foundation skills in IBSA units Foundation skills are non-technical skills that support participation in work, in adult education and training, and in the community. IBSA uses two frameworks for the foundation skills mapping. ACSF Learning Reading Writing Oral Communication Numeracy Navigate the world of work CSfW - Manage career and work life - Work with roles, rights and protocols Interact with others - Communicate for work - Connect and work with others - Recognise and utilise diverse perspectives Get the work done - Plan and organise - Make decisions - Identify and solve problems - Create and innovate - Work in a digital world
