We are committed to academic excellence, scholarship, research and service. As part of the State University of New York system, we offer one of the lowest tuition rates in the state and the nation. This means you will receive a world-class education with a return on investment that will pay dividends for years to come. Brockport was founded more than 175 years ago and has a rich history and a vibrant future. The College is 8,100 students strong, with more than 90,000 alumni in New York and around the world. We offer a range of majors and minors that span a wide variety of disciplines, including business, education and human development, dance and other arts programs, kinesiology and physical education, mathematics and science. Through our general education program, we also offer a solid base of a liberal arts education, so that you will be prepared to take on the major issues of our day. Brockport offers a number of ways to engage your intellectual and personal interests, both inside and outside the classroom. From undergraduate research experiences, to leadership development programs, to living/learning communities where students with similar interests live in the same residence hall, we offer opportunities that will help you grow. Over the years, I have seen students develop their intellectual and personal capacities as a direct result of becoming part of their academic community, and I am confident that you, too, will share in that same transformative experience. On behalf of everyone here, we look forward to introducing you to The College at Brockport. Please take a moment to tell us more about yourself. You can do this by visiting and becoming a Brockport VIP. I also encourage you to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to schedule a campus visit. That way, you will learn more about our diverse and innovative undergraduate and graduate programs of study, NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics, and other opportunities. You will also tour our beautiful, tree-lined campus, academic buildings, and state-of-the art classrooms, laboratories and recreational facilities. I very much look forward to seeing you on campus. Sincerely, Most academic departments offer minors and the minor will usually carry the same name as the major program. Heidi R. Macpherson, PhD President, The College at Brockport State University of New York
4 ENGAGE A dynamic, well-rounded academic experience The College at Brockport, State University of New York, has been experiencing positive momentum for years. Strategic investments in key academic programs, in our faculty, and in our state-of-the-art facilities have helped us thrive. We pride ourselves on the tremendous success our students achieve once they arrive on campus. Each day students strengthen their talents, find success in whatever they do, and make a lasting impact on others. Student engagement is the key to that success. Our faculty and staff are committed to involving students in innovative activities designed to support and enhance education both inside and outside of the classroom. We call it The Brockport Experience. Learning isn t meant to be passive. At Brockport, it s anything but. We are the engaged SUNY campus and are one of the most engaged college campuses in the country. This level of student engagement has occurred because we ve made student success the cornerstone of The Brockport Experience.
5 Daniel Hopkins 85, a prominent graffiti artist known as Pose 2, returned to his alma mater to share his talents around campus. For the students, it was an opportunity of a lifetime to work side-by-side with a prominent professional artist.
6 KNOWLEDGE Preparing students to confront challenges and opportunities As part of a liberal arts education, Brockport students take general education classes in subjects such as English, history, math and science in addition to courses in their chosen field of study. This broad curriculum equips students with a diverse knowledge that will prepare them for the rest of their lives. Our students will go on to become teachers, physicians, lawyers and corporate executives. All of them will be citizens who make decisions that impact the lives of others. A liberal arts education provides students with the tools to face these challenges in an informed and thoughtful way.
7 VALUE Leave college with less debt A great education should develop disciplined minds and shatter preconceived notions. It will unlock opportunities for meaningful careers and advanced degrees. It should be a transformational experience that inspires you to pursue something greater than you ever imagined. The College at Brockport students are offered a world-class education and are instructed by distinguished faculty in modern facilities, yet pay one of the lowest tuition rates in the nation. That s what we call value. The College at Brockport ranked 29th Best Value in the Country by Educate To Career (ETC), a California based non-profit organization. PayScale.com compared the 30-year ROI of public and private colleges, and found that a Brockport education is one of the very best investments you can make in New York.

It is open to sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate students from colleges and universities around the world. Other internship programs include: International internships: spend a semester abroad living, working and learning in countries such as England, China, Australia and others The Disney College Program: open to all majors and offers the opportunity to intern full-time at Walt Disney World near Orlando, FL, or Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. I lived in Washington and interned in the Supreme Court of the United States, Bobby said. Through my time at the court I realized that I didn t necessarily want to practice law, but I developed the skills to be successful in my current role as an Account Manager at Aerotek.
