11 Main outputs ECOLABEL certification system guide. The guide will include suggestions and recommendations oriented to the implementation of strategies for greener, safer and cost-effective road infrastructures. Development of an innovative and friendly software tool based on the ECOLABEL methodology Study on the implementation strategies and market analysis aiming to a wide deployment around EU and neighboring countries. Fostering Green Public Procurement. Pre-normative research activities towards standardisation. Creating a CWA (CEN Workshop Agreement) which is an agreement elaborated and approved in a workshop. Exploitation plan for the project results. Certification system and authorized entities.

12 QUESTIONS de l Ifsttar aux ACTEURS Français sur les calculs d Indicateurs Applicabilité de la méthode sur tout le cycle de vie d un projet routier (validation d études de cas Françaises), comment on l évalue?? La comparaison entre différents outils de calcul d Indicateurs en France : comment fait-on? Même question au niveau européen? Evaluation des données utilisées pour le calcul des indicateurs (génériques, spécifiques)? Comment traite-on des méthodes de calcul différentes pour un même type d indicateur? 14 Benefits for the stakeholders Each stakeholder have its own reason to support ECOLABEL. Some benefits might be for example: Benefits for public bodies such as national and regional road authorities: To increase the sustainability of the future and existing road infrastructures They will have a system to increase the protection of sensitive or protected areas (National Parks, certain ecosystems, etc. where the environmental impact of road construction/rehabilitation must be reduced). If ECOLABEL is linked to GPP and/or PPI, it might support the implementation of these type of procurement process. This might also provide alternative funding for the extension or preservation of their road network. *Note that the motives of similar stakeholders might vary depending on the country.

15 Benefits for the stakeholders Each stakeholder have its own reason to support ECOLABEL. Some benefits might be for example: Benefits for construction companies and operators: to showcase the sustainability performance of their road infrastructure products and projects. However, investing in a certification may be only interesting if major clients (e.g. road authorities) express their interest sustainable infrastructure and ask for proof in the form of (ECOLABEL) certification. Benefits for certification bodies: will only be beneficial if the revenues (payment for the assessment) outweigh the cost for being able to provide assessments (hiring assessors, education, etc.) *Note that the motives of similar stakeholders might vary depending on the country.
