5 Education GI Bill Purpose VA s Education programs provide educational resources to supplement opportunities missed because of military service. $56 Billion spent In past 5 years. 1.5 Million beneficiaries Veteran Tools on GI Bill Website Provides interest and aptitude assessment Launched February 4, 2014 As of Oct., 2013, 1.2M page hits Helps make informed decisions on how to use education benefits Allows Veterans, SMs and beneficiaries to apply for benefit online. Provides personalized counseling to Veterans and SMs. Online source for veteran job seekers Offers a military skills translator Offers training, vocational and education resources 1

6 Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program Objective & Scope VR&E provides career and vocational counseling to disabled Veterans and wounded warriors. 17% participant growth since FY 13. These services provide personalized counseling and support to help guide career paths and achieve educational and career goals. Market Share: % % Currently, 2.4M active loans on the books In FY15, over 900K online COE s 1,500 lenders participate Lowest foreclosure rate for 25 out of 28 quarters. 82% of loans with no down payment Over 1,800 Grants Approved; totaling over $96M 33K Grants Approved since inception totaling over $1B. More than 87 MOUs with tribes Over 970 loans made to Native Am. 18% of loans to Active Duty; 82% to Vets

8 Transition, Employment and TAP Key to Reintegration VA provides the mandatory VA Benefits I & II Briefings and the optional Career Technical Track Training (CTTT) for transitioning Servicemembers. Transition Assistance Program 5 Learning Hubs VECI Transition Policy Academies ALP Over 55K TAP events held in FY15, with nearly 520K attendees Almost 1,300 TAP classes outside the continental U.S., with over 23K attendees. VA is constructing a VA Benefits briefing tailored to the reserve component. Workshops being revised to offer apprenticeship, OJT and training information toward gainful employment. Public Private Partnerships

9 Veterans Employment Center (VEC) Over 18K validated job seeker profiles Over 11K registered employers Over 668K positions committed to hire. Over 365K Veterans hired. Over 1.2M visitors/mo A unified website offering job seekers and employers an online source to connect. Over 2.2 million private and public sector jobs and consolidated over a dozen sites. Contains a military skills translator to translate military occupational codes to civilian skill equivalents. What is the VEC?
