2 Catalog of Casualty Actuarial Society Sponsor and Exhibitor Opportunities Featuring the Society Partners Program The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is pleased to announce the Society Partners Program. This program is designed to help firms build and maintain year-round relationships with the influential group of insurance professionals that are CAS members. Carry out your marketing objectives while developing a unique relationship with CAS members and the actuarial profession as a whole by participating in the Society Partners Program. In 2012, the CAS is offering new opportunities to market your products and services to CAS members. Society Partners are firms who demonstrate a commitment to the CAS and its mission by making an annual pledge to support CAS activities. Society Partners are able to spend the amount pledged on a wide variety of sponsor, exhibitor, and advertising opportunities throughout the year. In return Society Partners receive benefits commensurate with their investment level. This program provides year-long exposure and maximum flexibility by allowing firms to choose from and combine exhibitor and sponsor opportunities to suit their budget and marketing mix. As a Society Partner, you will benefit in two ways: Partners receive exposure to a focused audience through participation in individual events and activities of their choosing over a year. Partners receive exclusive benefits, including a 20% discount on the regular cost of individual sponsor, exhibitor, and advertising opportunities. A Society Partnership runs for 12 months, from October 1 to September 30. To receive the exclusive benefits of this program, Society Partners must commit to a certain level of support at the beginning of the cycle. Enhance your company s visibility among the actuarial profession, communicate your leadership in the marketplace, and show your support for the CAS by joining the Society Partners Program. About the CAS The CAS represents the largest concentration of property/casualty actuaries in the world. The nearly 5,500 members of the CAS work for insurance and reinsurance companies and brokers, consulting firms, state insurance departments, educational institutions, and other organizations serving the financial services industry. About two-thirds of the members are Fellows and one-third are Associates. Many senior actuaries make or strongly influence purchase decisions for their companies and most CAS members are keenly involved in the products and services their companies utilize. The nature of actuarial training and education supplies CAS members with broad expertise in insurance and provides exposure to all areas of the industry. That is why CAS members have moved beyond purely actuarial positions and hold positions throughout the financial services industry, including in the executive suites. 1

5 NEW CASUALTY ACTUARIAL SOCIETY A WEEKLY UPDATE Advertising in the CAS Weekly Bulletin Every Wednesday, the CAS sends its newsletter to more than 6,500 members and subscribers. The e-newsletter contains important news and information about CAS activities, with a typical open rate of 33%. 6 Actuarial Review The The newsletter of the Casualty Actuarial Society Volume xx, Number x 2011 Advertising in CAS Publications In , Society Partners can use their commitment to advertise in the Actuarial Review, the quarterly newsletter of the Casualty Actuarial Society. It is printed and mailed to almost 9,000 insurance professionals in February, May, August, and November each year. Actuarial Review Calendar Listings The newsletter includes a new standing section for advertisement of non-cas educational opportunities. Don t miss this chance to promote your firm s webinars, seminars, exam-review courses, or other events to an audience of casualty actuaries. The information will be included in both the print publication and in the online version of the newsletter. Cost: $500 for up to 100 word listing; $400 for Society Partners Actuarial Review Product Spotlight Does your company: Develop or provide insurance-related technology and expertise or targeted computer products and systems for actuarial analytics? Offer a wide range of comprehensive consulting, outsourcing, training, or recruiting services and management support for actuaries and others in the insurance industry? Focus on risk management services, analytics, or tools? Publish textbooks, references and periodicals of interest to actuaries and other risk management professionals? Produce specialized database sources of insurance industry information? If you answered yes, consider placing a Product Spotlight in the Actuarial Review. Firms are invited to submit an article promoting a new product or service, up to 500 words with one logo or graphic, and not exceed one-half page of the newsletter. The article will be included in both the print publication and in the online version of the newsletter, and will be clearly labeled Advertisement. Cost: $1,000; $800 for Society Partners Actuarial Review Insert Similar to the registration package insert option at CAS meetings and seminars, firms are invited to submit a onepage flyer promoting a new product or service. The flyer will be inserted as a separate piece of paper in the Actuarial Review mailing and as a printable document linked from the online version of the newsletter. Cost: $5,000; $4,000 for Society Partners Please note that all advertising in conjunction with The Actuarial Review is subject to approval of the Committee on Sponsorships and Advertising. 5

7 CASUALTY ACTUARIAL SOCIETY Advertising in the Online CAS Career Center The CAS hosts an online career center where employers can: Search over 1,000 resumes of actuarial candidates and pay only for access to the resumes that are a good match for your job opportunity. Pay just $275 for a 45-day job posting, with discounts for multi-packs of job postings. Purchase a banner ad that is displayed on the Career Center home page or Job Search page. Obtain access to hundreds of active job seekers. Because the fees for job postings and access to resumes are already modestly priced, there is no additional discount provided to Society Partners. However, Society Partners will enjoy a 20% discount on the cost of banner advertising and one complimentary 45-day job posting. 13 2012 Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar (CLRS) September TBD, Denver, Colorado With about 60 different sessions on current issues in loss reserving, the CLRS is the premier educational event for property-casualty insurance professionals engaged in estimating unpaid claims. Firms that provide software solutions to assist the actuarial community with loss reserving will value the exposure to the concentration of attendees at the CLRS. In 2012, the CLRS is scheduled for September in Denver, Colorado. About 550 attendees are expected. 14 Give-Away Sponsorships Sponsors are invited to broaden their exposure by having their company name and logo displayed on one of the items listed below and distributed to every meeting or seminar attendee. All items will be sponsored exclusively and on a first-come, first-served basis. The $1,000 licensing fee will allow you to display your company name and logo on the item you select, and the CAS will distribute the item to attendees at the registration desk of the meeting or seminar. Companies sponsoring the give-away items are responsible for the costs to produce the item. CAS staff will work with you to select an appropriate item and handle all related administrative work. Tote Bag Your company logo will be prominently displayed on the tote bag distributed at the registration desk. Attendees will carry these bags with them throughout the seminar, and beyond! Maps A pocket-sized map of the host city will be provided to every delegate. Your company name and logo will be displayed on the map. Padfolio A padfolio with a pad of paper will be provided to every delegate. Your company logo will be displayed on the front cover of the padfolio. Every time someone opens up their padfolio, your company name and logo will be seen. Attendees will take this with them everywhere during the meeting. Printed List of Attendees Provide attendees with a printed List of Attendees, with your company name and logo displayed prominently on the cover. 15 Exhibitor Opportunities at CAS Events A table-top exhibit at the focused CAS seminars or the CAS Annual Meeting will allow your firm to showcase your products and services to key influencers in purchase decisions. As an exhibitor, you have the opportunity to promote your organization and increase your brand recognition to a captive audience of risk professionals. Three events in will include exhibiting opportunities. Plan to set-up a table-top exhibit at: 2011 Annual Meeting 2012 Ratemaking and Product Management Seminar 2012 Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar Exhibitor Highlights The exhibitor s area is designed to maximize traffic to your table-top. At the two Seminars only, receptions, breakfasts, and luncheons will be held in the Exhibit Hall to attract attendees to your table-top. At the Annual Meeting, table-top exhibits will be set-up in the foyer in the heart of Annual Meeting events -- near the CAS registration desk, general session rooms, and food and beverage events. There are dedicated hours for Exhibits and Networking Breaks with no other scheduled events or sessions. The Cyber Café is located in the Exhibit Hall to increase traffic through the Exhibits (at the two Seminars only). The CAS Exhibit is positioned in the exhibitor area to serve as a high-interest hub for CAS news and information. A prize raffle is offered for attendees who visit all of the Exhibitors. The regular exhibit fee of $1,500 is offered to Society Partners at $1,200 as an exclusive benefit of partnership. Tabletop exhibitors receive: One six-foot skirted table, two chairs, and one easel for signage in an eight-foot wide area. One full attendee badge for each table-top space purchased. Exhibitor-only badges may also be purchased in advance or at the seminar. An exhibitor-only badge provides access to the receptions, breakfasts, luncheons, and refreshment breaks. Benefits for Exhibitors Pre-event exposure on the event web page with your company name, logo, link, and short description. Pre- event exposure through recognition in one issue of the CAS weekly bulletin with a link. On-site exposure through verbal acknowledgement during the opening general session. Inclusion in the on-site program booklet promoting exhibit area and hours, and listing your company name, logo, and description. Exhibitor ribbons for all company employees in attendance. Pre- OR Post-event attendee list with contact information, provided in an Excel spreadsheet for one-time use. 14

Please note that table-top exhibit space and sponsor opportunities are limited. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Society Partners will have the opportunity to choose from among the sponsor and exhibitor options before non-partners. The CAS Office will confirm if your application has been accepted. Companies that are unable to commit to the level of investment required to become a Society Partner are invited to take advantage of exposure opportunities at individual CAS events. Details on sponsor and exhibitor opportunities available through these events will be announced two months prior to the events through the CAS weekly bulletin and on the CAS Web Site. Next Steps For firms who plan to join the Society Partners Program: Express your intention to join the Society Partners Program by September 30, 2011 by contacting Mike Boa at mboa@casact.org or Select your annual commitment and Society Partner level. Review the individual sponsor and exhibitor opportunities available throughout the year, marking those of interest and making note of the cost at the discounted Society Partner rate. You do not need to choose all of the opportunities that will fulfill your annual commitment at the time you submit the application. However, since many of the sponsor and exhibit opportunities are limited, Society Partners may wish to reserve their selections early. Complete the application form. Send the form with payment information to the CAS Office according to the instructions on the form. You will be contacted to confirm that your application has been accepted and to discuss your selections for individual sponsor and exhibitor opportunities. For firms who will not reach the Society Partner threshold during : Look for details on sponsor and exhibitor opportunities available at individual CAS events to be announced two months prior to the events through the CAS weekly bulletin and on the CAS Web Site. The Sponsor and Exhibitor prospectus for an individual CAS event will include all of the information and instructions for establishing your presence at that event. 15
