The program offers hands-on leadership opportunities and extensive exploration of nonprofit organizations through internship, volunteer opportunities, Nonprofit Leaders Student Association (NLSA) activities, and professional development seminars. Students completing the hour program of required courses and a specified number of co-curricular activities are eligible to receive a certification from Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Inc. The Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Certification in Management and Leadership is administered through the Division of Public and Nonprofit Administration. For more information about this program, please call or visit their webpage at: *UNIV 3900 Experiential Learning Credit may be granted credit for college level knowledge and understanding related to the student s major area of study and gained from work experience, life experience, or non-college instruction. The student who wants an assessment of such learning prepares a portfolio that describes and documents the learning. Portfolios are assessed by faculty who teach in that area. Assessment by portfolio is reserved for knowledge and competencies which do not readily fit into the credit by examination procedures described above.
