1 SAN JACINTO COLLEGE JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: DEPARTENT: Director, Curriculum Development, Innovation, & Assessment Associate Vice Chancellor for Learning SECURITY SENSITIVE: No FLSA STATUS 1 : Exempt SALARY GRADE: 30 FUNCTION: REPORTS TO: SUPERVISES: Directs, manages, and facilitates curriculum maintenance, instructional and administrative assessment, and instructional and administrative program review procedures. Support college efforts to develop, maintain, evaluate, and continuously improve college curriculum in general education, academic disciplines, and technical programs in accordance with state and local policies, regulations or guidelines. 2. Provide support for planning, developing and implementing new educational programs. 3. ork within the Committee on Articulation Agreements to support college efforts to establish, maintain, and market articulation agreements with other institutions. 4. Direct implementation of effective methods and tools for assessing student achievement of learning outcomes at the institutional, 1 A, B, CAFÉ, CHILD, IA and IB bands are Non-exempt, all other bands are Exempt 2 All job functions UST add up to 100% 3 D=daily, =eekly, =monthly, =quarterly & A=annually
2 program/discipline and course levels. 5. Advise faculty and instructional leadership in efforts to use data to assess, report on, and improve student learning and success in a program or discipline. 6. Direct and manage projects exploring innovations to enhance teaching and learning (innovative instructional strategies, assessment or technology). 7. Collaborate with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to support faculty continuous improvement of assessment at course, program, and institutional levels. 8. Support college efforts to document student learning and achievement in compliance with accreditation requirements. 9. Direct, facilitate, evaluate, and continuously improve instructional and administrative program review processes. 10. Direct, facilitate, evaluate, and continuously improve annual administrative assessment processes. 11. In collaboration with RIE, direct and manage institutional survey administration system, and support survey research, college-wide. Additional Job Functions: D,,,, A %Time 1. Serve as a resource to college curriculum and program advisory committees. 2. Research, evaluate, and track trends in curriculum, instruction, and assessment in higher education. 3. Serve on college committees and represent the college within the community as required or requested.
3 REUIRED/INIU UALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable of academic and technical education curriculum issues including relevant THECB guidelines and regulations Capable of supporting delivery of training for instructional administrators in curriculum development, outcomes assessment, and related areas. Demonstrated skills in leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, communication, and administration. Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, student success and exceptional service. Excellent writing, speaking, presentation and organizational skills. Education and Experience: Required Education: Earned aster s in academic, education or technical field. Preferred Education: Earned aster s or Doctorate in educational research, curriculum development, instructional design, higher education leadership or related field. Required Experience: Five years of experience in a community college including three years directing curriculum/program development and assessment. Preferred Experience: Seven years of experience in a community college with five years progressive experience in instructional administration. Experience with THECB curriculum guidelines preferred (ACG/EC).
